My father and I made a very last minute booking to the Sheraton Shunde Hotel. We booked the cheapest room available which was the Twin Executive City View Room. (Room 1329) The cost came down to an expensive ¥1600 CNY on an Easter Weekend. ||We spent about 15 minutes and 23 seconds waiting in line with about 10 groups ahead of us. Check In was swift and easy with a 7 minute and 16 second duration performed by Bowie Chen. She was professional, kind and efficient at the front desk; and managed to check us in as quick as she could after a long but understandable wait.||The room was “2009-outdated” (year it opened) outdated. However, it functions still very well with a comfortable bed, functional TV, a good view and good amenities. I should note that the welcome letter was old, stained and in need of a replacement. ||The swimming pool was although busy, we were able to get a locker and a good decent space to make laps to and through the length of the pool. ||The main highlight of how stay was the Club Lounge. It has a great view of the river that leads to the Pearl Delta. The choices of snacks and drinks were pretty lacking in their 3:30-6PM timing, but then there’s a buffet dinner from 6PM to 8PM. There were sushi, beef stew, lamb pilaf, pasta, German sausages, salads, desserts and additional spirits. I would like to note that the open time from 3:30PM to 11PM should be expanded to hotel standards of 7AM to 11PM. I recently stayed at an InterContinental Hotel with Club InferContinental Access, and they opened from 6AM to 11PM. This is the opportunity to expand many other executive benefits such as Lounge Breakfast and Afternoon Tea service. We would however like to thank Ivey Lin for her services as a Lounge Attendant, along with the lounge desk manager for their diligent service. ||Breakfast was great. We liked the Shunde Fish Congee.||Overall, I would come back to the Shunde Sheraton Hotel. However, with the surroundings being modern scrapers and intensely high tech infrastructure, the hotel needs to blend in with a modernization of the rooms, suites and club lounge. There’s also need to change the club room services, which are in need of some service...
Read moreThe hotel's facilities and interier are actually new and well maintained. --- I have also been upgraded to river view room, veiw was fantastic However, the trip was real scewed up with the hotel services.
-- Mail was not responded by the VIP club manager. I received a passionate mail from the VIP club manager Alissa, asked me if any specific requirement that I can contact her. Hence I replied, that I would like to check if I can have access to executive lounge ( My friend accmpany me is with platium status. He had access to the executive lounge) As we were planning the trip together, so I would like the two families spend times together. However, there was no response from Alissa, not a single word. My family have to spend the happy hour alone in lobby lounge, and breakfast alone in the restaurant, while other two families accompany with me stay in the lounge. --- I was willing to pay for the lounge service if needed, but Ms Zheng's attitude of neglecting making guests like me feeling been ignored. --- My freind (platium status)'s mail was attended timely, just FYI.
-- No Guest service. --- Ice cubes waited 3 hours, with 3 reminder calls, still not delivered. We were having a mini party in the evening, So we called guest service for ice cubes. We called at 8:30, waited till 10, no ice delivered. We called again, the lady answered the phone after 10 rings, and confirm her colleauge is on it. We waited until 11:30, we called again. The same lady still revert that her colleauge will bring us the ice. --- There were no ice drinks during our stay.
I'm extremely disappointed with the staffs services. The hotel was new and well maintained, but un-professional services really make the trip unpleasant.
I really hope the hotel can make proper training to the staffs, also for management --- emails should always...
Read moreBottom line: This hotel is alright. Not terrible, but not the best, a decent 7/10.Cleanliness: it clean and decently kept. Nooks and crannies were dusty but the room itself was clean.Location: if you're looking for something close to things, this really isn't a place to stay since it's pretty far from most locations. However, for us it was nice and quiet without a lot of noise or traffic.Service: The service was good, everything we needed or wanted was dealt with and the staff was nice. Shout out to Jesse Zhou for helping us check in and answering our questions, she was great. Only reason that I took off a point is because when we ordered room service the person that brought the food didn't remove the plastic wrap from the food and we had to do that ourselves.Amenities: Honestly, this was a bit lacking. All of the dining options were a bit pricey given the hotel's cost. The room service breakfast was just ok, which was disappointing because of the cost. Bed: pretty comfortable, just felt a bit old.Other notes: The water's default setting was hot, this didn't take points away, it's just something to note. Something I really didn't like was that every light switch was a blue light touch panel that shined in the dark. Also, the thermostat was the same thing but with two extra red and green bright lights. We ended up covering these with pillows and a bag because they...
