Shunde New World Hotel — Hotel in Foshan

We are going on a family trip. We used to book the twin bed rooms but this time I tried the one king bed room on the Executive Floor. The room is very spacious and so as the bathroom. The room rate is very reasonable. I think I will book the same kind of room on my next trip. I will recommend this type of room to my brothers and sisters. Wonder if they have twin beds rooms on the Executive floor! I also noticed that most of the rooms had renovated. We had a pleasant stay at their hotel than 3 years ago before the pandemic crisis. The hotel is perfectly located in the city centre, just across the street from Qing Hui Garden and a short walk from the pedestrian street. There is also a Foshan Metro station a block away. While the lobby looks grand, the rooms are tired and in dire need of renovation. The bathroom in particular was showing quite bad wear and tear. It's not dirty, but the wood and tiles are chipped, stained, and it feels more like a 3 star hotel. Staff were quick and smart to get things done and the bus to Hong Kong stops directly here, making it an easy weekend...

New World Hotel was probably very nice 10 to 20 years ago. Now the rooms feel quite dated. That said, the staff is well trained and English friendly. The location is also surrounded by lots of places to eat and shop. I would warn any foreigner to avoid the restaurant on the second floor. I don't know about the breakfast buffet, but as for dinner, I ordered from the menu and the food portion was very small and came out cold. Yet the price was expensive and had a 10%...
