Sheraton Fuzhou Hotel — Hotel in Fuzhou City

Staff were not in the right attire. I was surprise when I saw what was one of the staff was wearing on the night I checked in. I didn't realize what he was wearing until he went to get another staff who could speak English. I didn't get his name, but I'm sure you would have all the cctv to find out. I am not trying to get anyone into any trouble but I think Sheraton should have a proper conduct. He was wearing his jacket, shirt n tie on top, but then I realize he wasn't tuck in, wearing baggy jeans and fluffy winter shoes. I know it was late at night, but I am sure if it was the cold weather, Sheraton do provide their staff with overcoats and all.

Many of the staff doesn't speak English. And many of the staff brushes me off with just the sentence " I no speak English " and didn't bother to even get someone else to help me. None of the staff paid attention to guest in room dining order card. I have to bring it down to the lobby from my room to front desk. What is the point for paying more when I have to do everything myself?

Not to mention the public facilities. The pool is not even safe to be used by guest. Lose tiles and the clay beneath the pool could easily cut anyone who swims. The men's changing room was disgusting! The shower cubicle especially. It was filthy and has brownish and greenish stains on the floor, walls and shower head. The toilets has stains! Jacuzzi was broken down. And the toilets in the changing room smells terrible! I'm not even sure if he management even notice what was the condition of the men's changing room is like.

Need to extend credits and gratitude towards Front Desk Manager Victor. During my stay, you are the one and only staff that shines and make everything for my old folks who were on this trip with me...

My husband and I stayed for 5 nights from 26th to 31st December and discovered another Sheraton gem.

Despite its distance from the city centre it has many positive qualities that make it stand out and a hotel of preference.

It is elegant in its simplicity, the rooms and ensuites are spacious and squeaky clean and the Club lounge with its good selection of food and a library containing interesting books is comfortable. Feast Restaurant offers a wide range for its buffet breakfast and its a la carte menu has tasty local specialties.

Service is top notch. Of special mention are Max, William and Steven of the concierge team, Donna, Guest Services Manager (the icing on her cake of services was her directive to the kitchen staff that a certain dish on the a la carte menu be available on the last day of our stay), Ivan, Hebe, Phoebe and Ivy of Feast and Alice in the Club lounge.

The lack of English of many staff is more than compensated by the very friendly and attentive service and their eager effort to get someone to interpret.

A slight disappointment is the very small range of cut fresh fruits for buffet breakfast and evening cocktails in the Club Lounge and the lack of fresh juices. Freshly squeezed juices should at least be available in the Club lounge.

Another practice which I find rather unusual and strange is the request for a deposit, well above room charges, at check-in and at check-out if one is checking out the evening/night before one's departure. Never have I come across such a request at other Sheraton and Le Meridien hotels. This doesn't seem a nice welcome nor a pleasant goodbye especially for guests who have booked Executive Club rooms.

The staff members were very professional and was able to comply with my request almost instantly - Especially Anne Chen on the executive lounge made my trip very special one. It started that she reconized me by my name when I check in and also greet me with a nice cup of tea (She even remember what I had asked before- very detail person). She didn't just provide me excellent check in experience, she also offer me some great suggestions for local sighseeing. And also remind me there's a museum inside this hotel and also how great the outside swimming pool is. And at Happy Hour time, Eden Hsieh provde me a very quiet spot to enjoy some snack and also allowed me to work on my e-mails without people interrupt me. Lupe on the 17th also done a great job by ensureing my glass never empty and keep me happy. The room condition was good - and did I mention the room size were one of the biggest rooms that I've ever stayed. The hotel is beautiful. The outdoor swimming pool is amazing and huge. The The people was great! What else you can ask for? So friendly. I cannot wait until my next visit. Oh, I would also like to thank Anthonio Liu for helping me to carry the bag from the 17th floor to the 1st floor and also ensure I have bottle waters on the road.- and he is the Front Office Manager! It also turn out that I have stayed at other hotels he has managed.! And Anne, Thanks for the box lunch- so I didn't have to hungry for my 7 hours...
