In May in 2018 we stayed two nights in this hotel in twinroom 311. The Huozhou Hotel is a large hotel, in an eastern quarter of Turpan, south-east of the park with a pond and near the museum. The exact location is more north than indicated on Tripadvisor. It is on the west side of the East Ring road, the entrance is on Google earth at 42°56’33”N 89°11’29”E . As always in Xinjiang, there is a safety check with a large barrier before the hotel. Some remarks about this hotel.||1. When we arrived by train from Kuqa, we first had a trip with a taxi for more than an hour from the Turpan (old) station. When we left with the high speed train to our next city (Hami), we had a taxi to the new station for about 15 minutes. The hotel has a large reception. The staff at the reception only speaks Chinese/Uygur. ||2. The twin room we had was clean, large, with airco, a good shower, enough lights and darkening curtains.||3. The hotel has (slow) free wifi. ||4. The restaurant for breakfast is in a restaurant in a corner on the ground floor, a lot of choice in food for a Chinese breakfast, but also bread and a toaster, coffee, yoghurt and fruit. We have never seen a such a ‘wait-and-see’ staff than in this hotel. Although everybody could see there was no cutlery, bread, coffee and only one coffee cup was left, we first had to ask the staff for everything. Waitresses stood against the walls, looked around a bit, but did nothing…. Very peculiar||5. One day we made a day tour around Turpan. Because we liked to see the most interesting sites with a local guide, we had contacted a guide called Tahir on forehand by mail (tahirtour8@yahoo.com) to drive and guide us that day. We can recommend everybody to use his services when you are in Turpan. ||6. Finding a good and comfortable restaurant without plastic chairs is not easy. We can recommend the Herembag or: Hai'er Bage restaurant. The restaurant is less than 10 minutes on foot from the hotel. Just leave the hotel, go left and again turn three times left, along the park with a large pond. The restaurant is on the corner of the Laoshahezi street with view on the pond. ||Summarized, the Huozhou hotel is a good place to stay. If we ever would visit Turpan again, we would stay in this...

Read moreI don't mean they speak no English . I mean that this hotel , out on the front , does not have one word of any language other than Chinese . If you were travelling without a guide you could not identify the place if you had booked . || The hotel is actually very good and I definitely would stay again . We had 3 rooms for 2 days . The rooms are very spacious , and each had a beautiful big modern bathtub as well as shower .All very clean and well appointed .|| The hotel is situated in a grape orchard and it was great to have a shashlik dinner in a sort of bower with vines above and to the sides .. Frankly I think this type of dinner is very welcome to westerners who often find difficulty getting suitable food ..|| Definitely a 4 star hotel though breakfasts , as is typical, are a bit of a challenge .both coping with the hordes that descend at the same time and the...
