The resort is very big with a large and extensive hot baths area. We would highly recommend a room with a tub on the balcony and prepaying for the breakfast and dinner buffet. The tub on the balcony can offer a quiet escape from the resort when needed and you can use 38 RMB medicinal bags to add aromas and flavours to the balcony tub. The buffets will cost twice as much if you pay at the hotel instead of prepaying.||The hotel can feel overwhelmingly busy during breakfast and dinner and we found going an hour after the buffet opens means less elbows up around the buffet but you might miss out on some of the items like dumplings and clams. The hotsprings area was quieter during our second day when it was colder and we found the best times to go were between check out/check in time and when the dinner buffet first opened.||The rooms are very nice and the beds are comfy at this hotel. The staff will deliver fruit to your room daily as well as two small bottles of water. The air conditioning is strong and we had a ceiling fan in our room. We spent two hours each night in the large tub on the balcony soaking and it was mostly quiet and relaxing. We did go just before CNY so there was quite a few firecrackers being set off between 9 and midnight but we saw quite a few fireworks set off in front of the lobby from our balcony.||The pool complex was quite nice and there are large changerooms that you can get a locker in using your wristband at the entrance to. Not all the showers are equal and there are different detachable heads and larger stalls. Once you exit the locker room you will see a large "massage" pool with warm water and lots of different jets. Beside that there is a little shop that sells snacks, Chinese food and pool accessories. On both sides of the shop/massage pool are family pools with warm water and there was a wave pool which was closed in February when we went. To the right of the family pool to the right of the shop is a pool with lane swimming - you need a swim cap to enter this pool and it was beyond cold even for us Canadians in February.||Outside of the large pool area there is a good variety of Chinese medicinal pools and beauty pools. If you go up the stairs to the left you will find pools inside of a "cave", large bird cages and boats and we found most of these were lightly flavoured if any at all. We enjoyed the pool's more to the right as there was a milk bath, red wine bath and many floral baths. There was one Chinese bath that had a dark yellow hue to it and it felt really nice on the skin. Throughout the pool area you can get small cups of cold water and hot ginseng tea.||There is an afternoon tea in the ballroom at the hotel and you may be sent there if you check in during the rush around 2 pm while they prepare your room. They have a large screen in the ballroom and played children's movies in English with Chinese subtitles. The ballroom also becomes an overflow area for the buffet during breakfast. The buffet breakfast is included in the price and is not overly spectacular but you can get eggs and breakfast sandwiches to order I'd your patient. The dinner buffet had a good variety of Western and Chinese food. If you are lucky you might get to see a beef/pork tenderloin carving station with roasted vegetables but it didn't last long both nights. They had a long lineup for fried steaks and fish both nights we were there and both were ok. We found going to the dinner buffet an hour and a half after it opened was better because it is a madhouse when it first opens. The drinks can be found in the terrace area and they do serve alcohol. The bright pink, blue and green drinks are liqueurs mixed with sprite and they have a dispenser with Harbin beer.||We stayed two nights and felt we would have been fine with just one night. It is quite a trek to get up here with the closest metro being Conghua Coach Terminal and a 30 to 40 minute Didi from there to the hotel lobby. There are some hikes to do in the area but there isn't much near the resort itself. It was cheaper to book this hotel and the meals directly through a WeChat contact for the resort. There are still odd superhero statues...

Read moreWe stayed in the Sanying Spa Resort Hotel during our Guangzhou Trip 2023 from 1st to 3rd April. Since we were travelling as a family, we have reserved the 4-room spa villa (including a karaoke room, a swimming pool + onsen pool, and an electronic Mahjong table). The villa number was room 401-403. Since the villa was far away from the hotel lobby, the hotel staff escorted us on a “golf car” from the hotel lobby to the villa (which took around 3 minutes). Walking was also possible but takes around 10 minutes. Service was swift everytime and waiters in the lobby were very courteous and helpful in addressing our concerns. The villa was huge with a total of 300+ square meters, which comprised 4 levels, including a gigantic living room and karaoke room on the 1st floor (the entrance), the 2nd floor comprising the living and sitting room + electronic mahjong table, the kitchen, as well as the swimming pool and the onsen pool outdoors. The 3rd and 4th floors were the bedrooms respectively- and the entire villa could stay up to around 10 guests in total. All facilities were amazing indeed apart from the fact that the karaoke might sometimes stop working (and all songs would be gone for some reason). ||For both nights, I had a super comfy sleep- and the bed quality was excellent. It was the best two nights of sleep during our Guangzhou trip. Service in the hotel was also exceptionally excellent. Everytime when we left the room and asked for a ride to the lobby, we phoned the staff and then they would arrive within 5-10 minutes time, indicating excellent service and proactiveness in the hotel. Even more, when we used the onsen facilities in the hotel, staff would proactively bring tea (different types of tea such as rose tea, etc.) to all guests, indicating excellent service throughout the hotel. This was very impressive.||Facilities in the hotel were also excellent. The public onsens were impressive and boasts more than 50+ pools in total, with even a mini water slide for children to play in. The different pools include milk pools, rose pools, red wine pools, lavender pools, etc etc. This was also accompanied with the attentive service. Staff would also guide you on where to go in case you get lost (especially because the venue of the onsen is super large). ||We did not have the buffet breakfast in the hotel- but we did try out the lunch in the Chinese restaurant on the first day. Overall, some good food but it was a little bit pricey. Hence, if you stay in the hotel, it’s preferred to go out to the 農家菜 restaurants for more traditional and cheap food.||Overall, we had an amazing stay- and this is no doubt a 5-star review for hotels. Thank you for an amazing hospitality and stay for...
