DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Guangzhou - Science City — Hotel in Guangzhou City

I was here in 2022 for a couple of weeks as well as nesrly two weeks now in March 2024.||Very good service, clean and friendly.||If you need packages to be sent you have outside store boxes (one right of entrance, one in the garage) as well as food storage outside right of the entrance.||Stuff friendly and straight, english is sometimes a little bit a confusion but okay, in worst case hands and feets additional used helps you move further on to explain what you want/need/ask 🤭😉🤷🏽‍♂️||Breakfast is amazing, over longer time viewed, sometimes you catch a day where the different offers are not so interesting but its rare, most important: never, never ever had problems with food here.||Gym is well, SPA could be improved, at last stay you had to call get the Sauna warm as well as the enclosed bath, this time I did not try it because of I havent known when I will return and did not want wait for warm up.||The swimming pool I couldnt try this time, was out of order, maybe not season for it gor now.||Frogs: if you do not like listening to to frogs, ask for a room offside the pond, they are quite loud, but: its nature.||Find-treasure-boxes-game (I do not want mention name due to not make advertisment for the brand) and walking, nearby you will be able find a few walkpaths through nearly untouched forests and get recovery, on weekends you will see many many people making picknick around the pond, so definitively a relax area.||Summarized everything is well and good organised, those little mentioned points are not...

Second time staying here this year. Love the lake view rooms. ||DO NOT EXPECT NORMAL DOUBLE TREE SERVICE STANDARDS HERE.||I took a 4pm flight from Beijing that was slightly delayed, then there was a long drive here to The Double Tree. Famished, the first thing I did when arriving in the room was to look for the room service menu. There was NO room service menu in the room, and when I called they told me the kitchen was closed so there’s no room service, 不好意思，which means “Embarrassed”. It’s a common, meaningless courtesy that actually means “I don’t care”. ||I asked why a Hilton doesn’t have a night menu for late arrivals, and at 9:42pm, I didn’t consider that very late. The “embarrassed” but not embarrassed lady who answered the in-room dining connection went and asked someone else and came back about ten seconds later with “oh it’s because of Covid-19 that we don’t have room service.不好意思” ||No. ||It’s because of poor service that you don’t have room service. Nobody checked my temperature or health code as I entered the hotel, so the hotel is NOT concerned about COVID-19 at all. Why would you lie when a frequent traveler and Double Tree guest challenges you? ||The Double Tree in Ningbo was so much better. ||So, I can’t write your hotel or that employee a positive review, 不好意思。 ||Now, back to my dinner...a...

I have visited this hotel for a week during the Canton fair.

The rooms are very big and clean, they have everything you need. Swimming pool is a bit small for swimmers. Breakfast is huge with a very large verity of food, both local and international.

The room had a weird smell which took a while to get used to. The air condition in the room didn't really work according to the thermostat, it could freeze the room or just cool the air a bit.

A shuttle to the canton fair is available few times a day, it will take around 45 minutes to get there. There's literally nothing to do around the hotel, no shopping areas or restaurants and its pretty far from the city centre. It was that far that taxis didn't want to take us there during the night as they knew that they will have to go back empty to the city centre.

Its good for business, less for couples or families.

The biggest plus is the staff which was very helpful and welcoming!

With these few downsides, I would consider coming back to Double Tree however, I would prefer a better...
