We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The Fairfield brand is one of the lower end of the Marriott Bonvoy hotels.||||Here are the positives and negatives of staying at this hotel.||||Positives:||1. The hotel staff are nice and helpful. Even thogh they don't speak any English, they do try to communicate with you. I can speak some Cantonese and very elementary Mandarin and was able to communicate with them on a limited basis using elementary Mandarin. The good thing is that while I can't speak a lot of Chinese, I do understand it although I needed them to speak slower and sometimes repeat words. And they were patient enough to do this.||2. We needed our clothes cleaned after traveling from a few cities in China, and even though I was a bit annoyed that their website is inacurately listing that they have a washer/dryer in the room, I was able to send it out for cleaning thanks to the help of the cleaning staff. Our cleaning lady was especially helpful in getting my clothes picked up and everything came back the next day with no issues.||3. Front desk staff was very nice in offering to help with with DiDi app to order us transportation to where we want to go. I was able to download my own DiDi app before I arrived in China, so I booked my own rides from the hotel.||4. Breakfast at the hotel was really nice and convenient. ||5. Next to another hotel next door that has a good Chinese restaurant. We were able to eat nice Cantonese dinners here for a few nights as we don't know where else to go around there to eat.||||Negative:||1. If you don't speak/understand any Chinese, unless you are with someone who does, this hotel may not be where you will want to stay.||2. On the General Room Amenities section, it says that there's a washer/dryer in the room. This is not true. We had to send our clothes out to wash. I specifically reserved this hotel because of the washer/dryer in the hotel because we did not want to carry a lot of clothes on this trip, and having traveled 2 cities prior to reaching this one, we were disappointed that this amenities were not available to us.||3. WIFI - very spotty. We had a hard time using the internet. We were on a leisure trip, however, if I was traveling for business, I would be upset as this would interfere with my work.||4. The lights around the outside of the hotel is distracting for us. We were able to close the blinds at night, but since there's no blackout curtains in the bathroom, it was distracting and made it hard for us to sleep.||5. The hotel is located on the main strip of Zhongshang road and it's very noisy. I think the windows are single pane as I can hear the noise from the top levels of the hotel.||6. A lot of construction around the hotel. We couldn't really walk outside without feeling that we were in a construction zone. ||||I am giving it an Average rating because I feel that this hotel can improve and I feel that the staff was really nice and helpful to us...
Read moreThe place is on the main road and very close to the eating places and general shops. One the best places with the top amenities and best comfort with sound proof rooms, ideal place for Canton fair visitors who are looking for a budget option. The customer service executives at hotel are very kind and speak fluent english (General Managers Emily & Wyman helped me a lot during my 3 days stay). They help book cabs and guide you the way around to find whatever you need. Drinking Water is provided in pleanty and free available in the lobby, fitness center and floors entrance. The rooms are very much upto the international standards. Wifi speed is great, room maintenance staff is also good. One tip: Learn a bit of Chinese (like hello, good morning, thank you, ...the basic stuff) and you start seeing smiles on the staff members and they go out of their way to help you...
Read moreThe staff was pleasant and friendly . Breakfast was somewhat decent but could do with some more international options. Gym was clean but the treadmills are extremely old , with one of them not working (3 in total). Probably could do with an update in terms of equipment.Receptionist were helpful and water was always available whenever we needed a it. The location is in a quiet place, opposite the park & close to the bus station nearby. Metro seems a bit out of the ways, so taxis are the best option for connivence. The bedroom door closes extremely loud & there’s no way to close it slowly , which makes it noisy for others and noisy for you when other do that. Overall, not a bad stay but not much to do around the area , but great if you’re looking to get away from the city...
