Forest Sea Hot Spring Resort Hotel — Hotel in Guangzhou City

Our recent family trip to Skov River Resort near Guangzhou was an absolute delight! Just a comfortable 1.5-hour car ride from the airport, this destination offers a truly unique and immersive experience. Our stay was excellent value, including entrance to their massive water theme park and delicious breakfast for two adults and one child, with our toddler enjoying free admission!

We loved the resort's authentic localized vibe—it was refreshing not seeing many Western, Singaporean, or Malaysian tourists, offering a genuine cultural immersion. The environment is superb; both the resort pool and water theme park consistently have ample lifeguards on duty, ensuring safety. A subtle mist along the poolside created a wonderfully mystical ambiance.

The water theme park is incredible! It features diverse herbal hot springs, perfect for soaking. Kids will love the dedicated area for catching fish and feeding animals. While standard water slides offer thrills, the standout was their unique "roller coaster" slide spanning several buildings. A huge bonus: the indoor water theme park playground uses warm water, ideal for those who, like me, dislike the cold!

The sheer size of the resort provides endless activities. Beyond the water parks, a huge lake offers kayaking, boat rides, and even chopper rides for aerial views. There's also a stunning man-made beach that perfectly simulates a Maldives vibe with fine sand, clear water, and coconut trees.

Entertainment is a highlight! Daily performances feature DJs and dancers at the water fountain. The human water jet performance is truly captivating and something we'd never seen before in Singapore! Evenings are spectacular with a combined light and firework show.

Choosing a room was fun with so many thematic options, almost all featuring a hot spring tub. We adored our forest theme room with a loft, slide, and a balcony boasting its own hot spring tub.

Dining was excellent; we highly recommend the resort's Chinese restaurant over the Western buffet. The portions are generous, and the food is delicious, especially their fried rice!

Despite its rural location, nestled among villages, the staff's service was outstanding. When we struggled to find a 6-seater car to the city, they commendably used their contacts to charter two 4-seater cars for us and our luggage. This personalized assistance truly made our departure seamless.

In Google there are 2 names for this resort. Forest sea hot spring resort and Skov River resort. Maybe one is a new name. Nevertheless, it is opened in 2022 and it's considered new. The rooms we stayed is on the main building which is great. The bed is comfy and the room is bright. The bathroom is big.

I like their bedside switches. Most of the hotel's that I stayed, they have multiples switches for each light. They hotel it has 3 switches, i think is off, bright and spa. When u press the bright button, all the lights will be on, which is great. Then when you wanna sleep, press one of the off or spa will do.

The waterpark is great but they closed off a lot of rides because they wasn't enough of customers I guess. But they do have man-made beach and a big lake for you to play with their canoe and electric boats. They also have some shows at certain timing.

The hot spring is kind of gimmicks, my guess is the water in the "hotspring" is from the tap and boiled.

If you would not like to eat in the resort, get the buggy to bring you to the main guard house and try the first restaurant on your left. The food is quite good. Apparently, most of the local people here are from the hakka clan. Their hakka dishes...

omg. I LOVED LOVED LOVED MY STAY THERE!! 10/10 would recommend! The rooms are very pretty, if I didn’t forget, all rooms have hot springs in them! I recommend the room with the slide if you have children! The villas looked so nice too!!...
