As a newly built hotel (i assumed), the room is comfortable & nice, manager who greet us in the front desk was nice.
If you are looking for a weekend trip, this hotel may not be a good choice in terms of location, as it is located around 10-15 mins walk from the station. Another 15-20 mins of train is needed to get to city centre of GZ. Time spent of travelling is quite a lot if you just stay GZ for 1-2 days.
We happened to stay in the hotel 2 weeks before the Chinese New Year and we didn't book the return train ticket from GZ to SZ in advance as it normally not the peak season yet. While we waiting to check-out on our return day, staff kindly offered to book/check the train ticket for us - however, we were told the tickets were ALL SOLD OUT due to the peak season. Such information was proofed to be wrong. And they claimed they did double checked for us.
We were in a panic while the staff informed us we were unable to leave on the same day, then we were left alone and no follow-up was given except the negative answers. While we were trying to get taxi to get to the train station ASAP, no one was there to help in the entrance even we were carrying a lot of luggages and in a real hurry. But fortunately, we were able to get onto the train back to HK, as it wasn't that full at all.
I am hoping the hotel can provide training or do whatever to avoid the above situation so that it won't happen to other guest again - as it will sure left a bad memory to guest despite how nice the hotel room/...
Read moreMe & my wife stayed at Four Points by Sheraton Guangzhou Dongpu on our recent trip from 3/5 to 8/5. The hotel is about 1km from the Shanxi metro station of Line5 metro line. There is a buggy shuttle plying from the metro station to the housing estate beside the hotel and you pay only RMB2 per pax.The check in was fast and smooth and the reception & concierge staff were friendly and helpful. As I was a Marriott Bonvoy Platinum member, we were upgraded to a bigger room on the 22nd floor. The room was spacious & clean and the bed & pillows were comfortable, thereby giving us a good night sleep. The bathroom was spacious although it comes with a shower room and not with a bath tub which I was expecting.I would also like to commend the good service of the housekeeping executive, Sarah who went out of the way to give us a bagful of biscuits when we check with the reception on where to purchase the nice biscuit given in the room each night. The breakfast range at the restaurant was good and we enjoyed it. The hotel also have a chinese restaurant although we did not eat there. Around the hotel at the housing complex were plenty of small food shops and a very good fish shop where you can find good local food. The disadvantage of the hotel is that it's a bit far from the shopping belt but near to one of the port area where they have seminars and exhibitions there. The price for this hotel is value for money if you do not mind taking the metro train from the suburbs.Overall, I would rate the hotel...
