Holiday Inn Guangzhou Science City — Hotel in Guangzhou City

Holiday Inn Express hotel tells it all isn’t it? Dont expect too much and you might just find it alright and acceptable. Fairly clean, fairly good service, quiet hotel except for last weekend happen to be when an exhibition was happening and this hotel happen to have affiliation and have shuttle bus for the exhibition thus it was crowded. Food was average and not much selections during breakfast. I guessed most guests traveling in Guangzhou would not be having their lunches or dinners in a holiday inn express hotel as there are way too many great restaurants around especially there is a big wanda mall about 30minutes walk away. Room was spacious. But do take note that there is a massive construction happening just opposite the hotel so the rooms were provided with ear plugs (to our surprise! And our disappointment of course). They work long hours on the construction site from 7am till 10-11pm. Expect it to be very noisy and do not expect to do any work or con-call in the hotel. The location is more for business as there are very few local restaurants about, but the hotel is very good. The rooms are very clean and comfortable with USB power sockets and a multi-lead that was able to all devices, excellent. The power sockets are able to accept all types and, again, excellent. The AC in the room is good, I had to turn it off as it was too good. The breakfast catered for Asian and European equally, so again, excellent. The area is by a small wooded area, so it's nice to walk through. Just remember the season as there are plenty of mosquitos about. The lobby area is very modern, and again, very clean. The reception people speak English and are always helpful, so thank you. For work, this is a very good hotel which provides good value for money. My poor rating is refer to the location!|Stay here for 2 nights for canton fair, hotel room I have no comment, simple, clean and good, service definitely no comment too.. the only thing I would like to highlight is not convenient at all unless u fully stay, eat, relax .. |Concierge help me to call a taxi to Wanda shopping complex around 8 minutes cost rmb20, is a nice place to walk around and food choices very wide, problem is when u come back to hotel u can’t find any taxi around( I don’t have an app like didi to call can rental) we walk back to hotel, thought that along the way can get a taxi but unfortunately walk till hotel we didn’t even see one taxi pass by.. |I definitely won’t recommend at all, not at all, if u still plan to go out for meal, shopping...
