We are long-time fans of the Pullman brand and have stayed at numerous Pullman properties across the world—Asia, Europe, and North America. One of the reasons we keep coming back is the consistent quality of service, cleanliness, and professionalism that Pullman hotels are known for. We've had wonderful experiences at so many of your locations, and it's that trust in the brand that brought us to this particular Pullman once again.||During our stay, we decided to dine at the Chinese restaurant inside the hotel. The atmosphere was elegant, the staff courteous, and the food itself was quite good. However, what should have been a lovely evening turned into a disappointing and frustrating experience due to what we feel was either a serious oversight—or worse, intentional negligence.||The restaurant was running a clearly advertised promotion: 8 dishes for 598 RMB. We happened to order nearly the exact same dishes from the regular menu, but were not informed of the set menu promotion at any point. As a result, we paid a significantly higher price for essentially the same meal.||When we discovered the promotion after our meal and raised the issue with the staff, we were told, “Sorry, our staff is new and still in training.” While we understand that training is necessary in the hospitality industry, this kind of response places the burden of employee error on the paying customer—which is unacceptable in any setting, especially one associated with a premium hotel brand.||This experience left us feeling dismissed and undervalued. No attempt was made to rectify the issue—no partial refund, no complimentary item, not even a formal apology from management. Just a vague excuse and a shrug.||To be honest, we couldn't help but wonder whether we were seen as easy to take advantage of due to our mixed Asian and Western background. We would like to believe that wasn’t the case—but it’s difficult to ignore when the promotion is openly displayed and never offered, and when others seemed to have received it without issue.||Mistakes happen. But what defines a brand is how those mistakes are addressed. Brushing off a guest’s concern by blaming a “trainee” and offering no follow-up is not only poor service—it’s damaging to your reputation. If staff are not properly trained, they should not be left to handle guests on their own. And if a promotion is being run, it should be clearly and consistently communicated to all diners.||We continue to support Pullman and have had far too many good experiences in the past to let this one ruin our view of the brand entirely. That said, this incident has certainly affected our trust. A simple effort to make things right would have gone a long way—not just financially, but in showing that the guest experience truly matters.||We hope management will take this feedback seriously, improve staff training, and ensure future guests are treated fairly and transparently—regardless of where they’re from or what they look like. Pullman has a strong global reputation, and we’d like to continue...

This hotel is incredibly close to Terminal 2 of the airport, making it a convenient choice for travelers. From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with a level of luxury and service that’s truly exceptional. Every detail is meticulously crafted, and the presentation of the staff—whether at reception, the bars, or the restaurants—is absolutely impeccable.
The lobby is stunning, with the grandeur of a mansion—beautiful, dramatic, and warmly welcoming. Check-in was impressively fast, and the rooms are both spacious and elegantly designed. The bed deserves a special mention—it’s hands down the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in. The pillow menu is a delightful touch, offering every type of pillow you could possibly imagine. Strangely enough, both times I stayed here, I ended up sleeping for more than 11 hours—proof of just how cozy and inviting this place is.
The amenities are top-notch, with restaurants that are both sophisticated and diverse. I’ve experienced the breakfast buffet and dinner on previous visits, and the variety is simply outstanding. From Asian to Western cuisines, there’s something for everyone, and the dessert selection is a real highlight.
The gym is fully equipped, the swimming pool is beautiful, and the spa and reflexology services are fantastic. The hotel also has a selection of boutiques and other stores, making it feel like a small luxury village. With its convenient shuttle service to the airport, it’s clear that this hotel has thought of everything.
A special thank-you goes to Octane, who was incredibly helpful, always available with suggestions and assistance, and to James at reception for his warm and efficient service. Even though not all staff are fluent in English, they go above and beyond to understand and assist you.
I can’t wait to return to the Baiyun Pullman Airport Hotel. It’s cozy, luxurious, and welcoming in every way.

Read moreDecent hotel right across the street from Guangzhou International Airport Terminal 1. Takes less than 5 minutes to walk from Terminal 1 to hotel. Most international flights arrive in Terminal 2. In this case, you need to take either: Airport Shuttle which runs every 5-10 minutes from Door 42, or the Pullman/Novotel shuttle which runs every 25/30 minutes from Door 46. If you take the Airport Shuttle, it drops you in Terminal 1 and you need to walk across the street to the hotel as stated earlier. ||Stayed in an Executive Room with Breakfast included. Very plush, clean and comfortable. Love the small fresh fruit basket left in room upon arrival. I never learned to operate the room lights. It was weird that I had to change elevators to get to my room on the 5th Floor. ||Breakfast was average compared to similar hotel in its class. Good variety but quality or freshness sometimes not top notched. U8 Restaurant also has lunch & dinner buffets and is opened 24/7. Food is more western style menu. I did not try the fancy gourmet Chinese restaurant on 2nd Floor. ||There is a little cafe that serves limited Starbucks menu, sandwiches etc. Also, there is a bar with a pool table that serves alcohol, coffees and teas. ||Biggest scam is the Spa. For a 90-min massage (deep tissue oil) the price was about $480 USD. Yes, US Dollars! That is 5X what I normally pay in California, USA in Chinatown, and about 2X/3X what I pay in a top luxury hotel in the States. This is in China and I’m shocked! Overall I would still recommend the Pullman Guangzhou as a nice...
