Value for money Business Hotel
While this property comes with all the fittings you can expect from a Four Points family of properties from the Starwood Hotel chain, what is different is the absolute steal you get to book this hotel for! For the price of a 3 star hotel (anywhere else in the world) you get to enjoy good comfort and hospitality.
LOCATION: Bit far from the main points of interest and old city but not too hard to reach if you hail a cab
DINE + DRINK: They have a Chinese restaurant, an International Restaurant as well as a Lobby bar that sells some very interesting Local Craft beers(big surprise!). However be prepared for very low quality of Food - both at the Lobby lounge, Eatery and Breakfast! If you can stay away from them and check out local restaurants outside!
ROOM: I stayed in 2018, so this review is based on that; VIEW: Limited city view; SIZE: Very spacious room; AIR-CON:Air condition was very poor Room was very hot and hard to sleep!!! BED: Comfortable bed that played the expected part to help me relax; BATHROOM: Stand in shower; TOILETRIES:Sheraton Branded toiletries which were pretty good
FACILITIES: Limited but decent Gym with Life fitness equipment. Indoor pool with luke warm semi heated water which would be great in good weather!
SERVICE: Poorly trained staff both during the night shift and day shifts. Especially the one in the Lobby lounge was quite spaced out and clueless with regards to service most of the time!
HOW WIRED YOU WILL BE: Free high speed Wi-Fi that works well all over the property. Big Plasma TV screen dishing out dozens of channels spanning sports, news, music, movies and a wide variety of entertainment in...
Read moreOn leaving Yangshou we took a private hire car to The 4 Points Sheraton Guilin for our departure next day. There are two Sheraton hotels in Guilin, one in town the other about 15 minutes from the airport by taxi (the 4 points where we stayed).||On arrival we had to handle all our own bags as there appeared to be no valet service and a man in uniform who may have been the valet at the door did not even look our way, this happened throughout China at most of the main hotels we stayed at.||Our check in was okay and reasonably easy. We received our key and took off to the room.||The room was very modern and quite spacious, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom facilities were very good. There was a business work area and free tea and coffee plus WIFI were supplied.||At night we dined in the restaurant and had the buffet meal, the restaurant manager was very nice and explained the menu to us. The food was nice but there was no selection for non Chinese International travellers. The buffet consisted mainly of Chicken feet, tofu, vegetables and an assortment of beans plus some cold food that included prawns.||On leaving the restaurant we called at reception to book an early morning taxi at 5am then left for our room.||At 4.30am we arrived at the reception to complete the check out to find the lobby completely deserted. No staff were visible as we walked around, my wife and I walked around the ground floor banging on various doors. At about 4.45am a sleepy young women appeared out of a room in a dressing gown apologising she had been asleep. We asked her to confirm the taxi which arrived 10 minutes late but got us to the airport on time. Taxi cost...
