A lovely place to stay. Most rooms have a great view. The staff couldn't have been more helpful. Not all spoke english but were very quick to get someone who could. we had the junior suite which is just outside the hotel with its own private patio and pond area .they offered us a room in the hotel as soon as was available and were surprised that we declined. I wore no insect repellent and got about 5 mosquito bites in a week . My wife did and got none. If your into wildlife , we had a daily visit from a chipmunk , various birds (spotted a kingfisher 3 times),frogs, countless butterflies and a few bats early evening. The hotel staff were most helpful in arranging any transfers or trips.. free bikes came in handy. The swimming pool area is nice, not huge, but adequate for the size of hotel. If your looking for a hotel in a nice quiet area, friendly atmosphere with stunning views this is it . The only negative thing i can say is the local village, which i'm sure will be nice when its finished. Although that sentiment covers...
Read moreMy wife and I spent two nights at the Apsara Lodge and only wish we had more time. The staff was very friendly and gracious. The breakfast was very nice with the opportunity to have noodles made to order, an omelet, and/or freshly made yoghurt and baked goods. The breakfast pastry with nuts and honey was particularly delicious. Another plus was free access to a...
Read moreThe views of the river and mountains from The Apsara Lodge are brilliant. We were met by Jason, who was absolutely helpful and always available to book taxis etc and communicate with the chinese speaking driver: Ms. Li. ||||We had a ground floor room with balcony and huge 1st floor room in a corner. Both rooms were spacious, super clean and with all modern amenities. The little restaurant on the property is good but doesn't offer much choice. Instead try the restaurant at their sister property: Moondance hotel, which is just 100 feet away. The food here is excellent. They also have a fabulous spa. Yangshuo Town is about 15 minutes by car and costs about 100 to 120 RMB for a trip to and fro. Bamboo rafting on the river was excellent...||||But, the only disadvantage was the hotel organised cabs to the airport, which were too...
