Yangshuo Secret Garden — Hotel in Guilin

At first, I was scared of all the good reviews and thought that maybe it was a scam, but it was not!! The hotel is beautiful and honestly extremely clean for the environment that it's in. Compared to some hotels in the main city, this one had no insects at all in the room. We got a family room for 3 people, and the room's size was more than enough with 2 different "eras" for the double bed and the single bed. For breakfast, you have the choice between a traditional Chinese breakfast (such as rice noodles) and a western breakfast (eggs, salad,...). Both of them were really good. And if you have an allergy or can't eat a certain food, you can just ask them to adapt to you, and they will! You can also eat in the hotel's restaurant for dinner, the food is just as good.The location was perfect. I knew that it was kinda far away from the city, but that's exactly why I chose it. From only being 25min away from the main city, you can have the prettiest view ever. It's also not even 10min away from the bamboo rafting, so it's perfect either way. And if you're worried about the taxi, you can just call a DiDi and it'll usually be here in less than 10min, so you don't have to worry about that.And finally the staff. They almost all speak English, so communicating with them was really easy. What a fantastic experience!! Highly recommend.I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else while visiting the beautiful Yangshuo area. Kids loved it!! It’s just a magical place, traditional Chinese house, excellent food, service. We took an “afternoon off” from doing activities and spent the time in secret garden and the area around. In a village, we walked around to see the cows coming back home at 5 pm, chickens and bunnies, great coffee shop nearby at a “New York price” but high quality coffee and cake. Secret garden is a place you can explore and be amazed at every step: roses and mini fountains, nature… can’t think of a better place for kids! Comfortable beds, sufficient space, nice little courtyard attached to the room, not enough time to take all in. Had tea in the evening on the terrace, amazing. Breakfast was great. Some friends and I biked here from Guilin in the cold and rain. We were treated with warm smiles and hot ginger tea. The staff was great, the rooms were big and cozy and the food was delicious. The neighborhood view was incredible and biking around was easy and met with lots of friendly places. If you are a baijiu person, stop at the coffee shop a few buildings down and get a glass, the owner is very friendly and makes it all himself and he is very proud of it, as he should be, the coffee there is good as well. My friends and I were wanting to have a bbq and firepit on our outdoor patio and were trying to scrounge up the equipment we would need. The staff heard what we were planning and were quick to help us get all the gear that we needed and even joined us and hung out. I will definitely be back with my family.
