Executive summary||||Pros:||Front desk was helpful, room was quiet, decent in-room amenities, location is right next to golf club||||Cons:||Irresponsible staff at the coffee shop, room was not cleaned properly, parts of the room requires renovation/make over, staff spoke little English (which is somewhat understandable, since this hotel isn't primarily targeting English speaking guests, I assume), swimming pool wasn't too clean.||||* Firstly the hotel had one staff mounting the coffee shop. After we ordered some food and beverages, despite only having 3 tables to serve, the staff took 20 minutes to pour a glass of tea. I had to go check on him twice! I reminded him of our order a third time as he put the tea down.||We proceeded to wait another 15 minutes for the rest of the order, comprising of juices and snacks. At this point, he disappeared from the coffee shop all together and a fresh face is now behind the counter. Turns out the initial staff's shift was up, so he left and didn't tell anyone about our order...Totally unacceptable.||||Room had dead flies all over the floor, quite disturbing||||*In the shower, there is an area where you can sit, unfortunately there are mould along the underside of the bench.||||Although some of the staff, front desk, did their best to make my stay pleasant, overall I was let down by the irresponsible staff, coffee shop incident and the condition...
Read moreI was attending a conference being hosted at this hotel. It's part of the hotel & golf resort area near Sanya at Lingshui. Sanya is about an hour's drive away. The hotel is really nice, modern looking place. Reception staff are all very friendly, and they speak good English. The rooms are excellent. Big bed, lots of room, nice bathroom and amenities. I had a nice view over the pool area. By the way the pool is big, and lots of room to swim. Thefood at the restaurant was pretty good too. stern and local cuisine. I tried the Hainanese chicken, but perhaps my tastes are more suited tot he Singapore version. The one I had wasn't so tasty. Breakfast is a buffet affair, and a good selection to choose from. If you are staying at the hotel and happy to eat there, you'll have no problems. If you wanted to wander out the hotel to try the local restaurants, well, there's none around. Its quite a distance to get to the shopping area...the hotel will happily arrange a taxi for you. Even though it was sort stay, it was pleasant, enjoyable and relaxing. Hard to...
Read moreThe location is not beach-front, but it is convenient and close to local outside restaurants. Inside the hotel itself the rooms are clean, spacious (family suite) and overall excellent value for money. The breakfast is good, not fantastic or poor, but good. The only downside was coffee..... it took 15-20 mins, was luke warm and milky. The lunch and evening meals were OK to good, reasonably priced and quite a good selection. ||||In my view, the hotel is un-kept, as there was masses of finger-prints on all the doors, lift mirrors, room doors, the public toilets were unclean, and there were stains on the furniture that were prominent and noticeable (we didn't want to sit down anywhere). ||||Front desk staff were good, restaurant staff were OK, room staff were OK.....(you need to speak Chinese to all staff else you'll struggle) but thats on par with most Hotels, unless you up the budget and stay up the road at the Raffles which is a totally different expereince altogether and is 5 star. ||||All in all I wouldn't deem this a 5 star hotel,,,, a good 3.5 yes,...
