really enjoyed my stay there. staff were quite friendly, unlike the normal curt chinese service you get in most hotels.||||personally i felt the design of the hotel is a bit tiring. maybe they purposely designed it this way, so guests will walk through the resort but everytime I had to go up to the 4th floor lobby area and then down another lift a walking distance away to go down to the outdoor swimming pool area. that was quite tiring. or you can walk straight through the chinese restaurant. imagine walking through the restaurant in your swim suit! but the view from the pool is great (shallow pool has a better view than the deep pool unfortunately, you will have to bear with the kids during high season) just wish the hotel design wasnt like a maze. headache walking around at first but once you get the hang, its OK.||||location of the hotel resort was good enough, very close to the lake, near to the ports where you can take boat rides but driving is definitely necessary to access this place. hotel also has bikes for rent to venture around.||||the rooms are quite comfortable. enjoyed the beds. rooms are very spacious and relaxing. you can see from the photos.||generally the resort is self-sufficient - restaurants, sports, spa (didnt go but heard its RMB200-300 for a massage, pretty reasonable, book in advance) etc. we had meals at the chinese restaurant (not bad, good value, huge portions) and also at the buffet (breakfast was OK, dinner...not great, better food at the chinese restaurant)||guess this place is all about the view. really enjoyed the lake view. definitely worth it to get a lake view room. summer time of course, bear with families and kids around. ||in summary, nice place, beautiful view, i think i would definitely go again if i...

My name is Kate, I traveled a lot around the world and in China in particular, I chose this hotel based on reviews, we checked in on the spot, at first guys from the reception were told that there were only expensive rooms (until I did online registration), the room was immediately found, we were registered for a very long time, but we kept a positive attitude:) after that we went swimming, met a beautiful sunset, there were very few people. After I met a cockroach in the room (of course!), the TV remote didn't work, the buttons on the TV itself didn't work either, but decided not to sit in my room for a long time, went to the reception to ask for board games (cards, chess) to play in the lobby, but they told me that they didn't have any board games (asked on both languages). I asked where the store was - they said it was a 10-minute taxi ride away.... Okay, that's weird.… Now, before writing a review, I see "a room with board games" :)))) Very strange staff, lights are turned off early everywhere, no music - absolute silence everywhere, the exit to the balcony at the reception is locked at 11 pm.... This was not a good experience. The first room they put us was not what we paid for. Staff at the front desk claimed it was an upgrade, but the room that we had paid for was more expensive on the website and listed as 'Superior' and the room they put us was the standard double, so I don't understand how that could be the case. The room also stank of stale cigarettes. They moved us to a second room and as we walked into it, a handy-man walked out in wet overalls and we saw that the bathroom had a leak and there was water and tools all over the floor. We asked to be moved again. The third room was very nice in what they described as the recently refurbished section of the hotel. Which begs the question, why on earth did they not put us in that room to start with? The hotel was only running at about 10-20% capacity, so who were the saving the recently refurbished rooms for?!The views are nice here, and the breakfast was good, but half of the facilities were closed, people would smoke in the lifts or in the hallways - right next to no smoking signs - and staff would not ask them to stop.
