杭州中都青山湖畔大酒店 — Hotel in Hangzhou City

The hotel is set in an amazing location next to Qingshan Lake and the scenery is beautiful. Every thing about the hotel was great apart from one incident in the evening that we stayed there. It was my first time meeting my girlfriend's mum so I decided to take them to this hotel as it has great reviews online and Qingshan Lake is an amzing place. My girlfriend's mum loves to play cards so after dinner we played in the hotel bar which was empty like most hotel bars in China. After buying a bottle of beer that was 4 times more expensive than a supermarket, we played about 3 or 4 hands but then one of the ladies who worked there came over and said we needed to stop playing. I asked why but she had no answer other we couldn't play and should go back to our rooms. Shortly after this her superior arrived and had the same message but again no reason why. I agreed we would leave because it was quite awkward but I asked to be refunded for the beer I had just bought. The manager gave me 38yuan on cash is difficult to spend these days in China, she didn't even make eye contact with me as she slammed it down on the table where we were sat. We arrived here by chance. Typically tourist hotel (this must be crowded in the summer), we found it in a very nice environment.||||Trouble free check in. The room was excellent. Everything you might expect (and a few things you might not, like condoms) is there. Everything worked nicely in the room and there was no major hiccup.||||Call me shy, but I prefer toilets to be in bunkers: thunders and poisonous emissions are better if contained. Besides, if you have to be controlling every muscle in your body while in the toilet to keep fanfare at bay... c'mon, this is a place to let loose!! In this case, not only was the toilet room communicated with the rest of the bathroom and room (no wall over the door), but the door was made of glass. I was alone and there was no reason to panic, but had I been with company and I would have kicked her out of the room to keep my privacy intact. Dear designers, this is not necessary.||||Dinner buffet was acceptable. Breakfast just barely.||||Next time I am around I will try to stay there...
