I was there 2 weeks for business. Hotel does not cater to Western guests, mostly for Asian guests or those looking for true Asian experience. Staff does not speak English. There is NO ICE AVAILABLE ANYWHERE IN THIS HOTEL! Even the restaurant has no ice... Breakfast starts at 6:30, by 7:30 no tables available, food was vast, but mostly Chinese "dinner" foods. Fried eggs, toast, and a few cereals are available also. Yogurt drink, Nes Cafe is the only coffee, milk, Tang oj, hot water for tea. Restrooms on restaurant floor have Western toilets with tp. Room is very small by Western Standards, but was clean and smelled good. Beds are typical Chinese, extremely firm, will be uncomfortable for most Americans. Bathroom was spacious and hot water was good. Hair dryer in bathroom. Shampoo and shower gel dispenser in shower. Room cleaned daily and towels changed. Washcloths not provided, take your own or WuMart. Two bottles of water daily in room. You cannot drink the hotel water. Minibar is locked and does not cool things. There is no coin laundry in hotel or within walking distance. Laundry service in hotel, but for those who wish to do their own, the sink is not good for laundry. Takes a couple of days for clothing to dry. Only two small drawers in the desk, none for clothing. Only 4 hangers in the 2 foot wide closet. Cheap ones available at WuMart next door. No hooks for hanging anything, even in bathroom. Again, WuMart to the rescue. The electricity requires a room key in the wall slot to work, including the AC; when you leave the room and take your card it will all shut off.Electricity outlets take American plugs and charged my iPhone fine, but burnt up my alarm clock in 2 minutes. Four elevators, require room key to operate. Very crowded, locals will cut line, they do not wait for people to exit for them to crowd in. WiFi is sporadic in lobby and 5th floor restaurant, does not work in rooms even with router. TV is good, 1 English channel, 1 French, 1 Spanish, 1 Russian. A few modern movies in English. Very small tea shop in lobby with drinks and ice cream bars. Overall the hotel is OK, could be so much better for Westerners if they had a potable water ICE MACHINE AVAILABLE, COIN LAUNDRY, mattress pads available, and in-room refrigerator option (I would have gladly paid a fee...
Read moreThis hotel was fine. ||Next door to a small shopping centre with a big supermarket, McDonalds and fashion shops, the location was good for accessing the metro and you could easily hail a taxi. Also a handy bank across the road because your Visa or Master Card will not work there.||To get internet you had to read Mandarin and use your WeChat to scan the QR code, which was a pain (think it was just their telephone number anyway).||||A little too many red lights and condom mini bar for my liking and advertisements for massages and companies that help with abuse in the rooms.||||The rooms have bathrooms with a window into the room so you can have a view if you like (seemed to be a lot of places like that) but there was a roll down blind in our room (not all rooms- we found out) for some privacy. ||The fixtures were run down and a cupboard door knob fell off in my hand and there was a really grotty bath mat in the shower- so I wore my shower shoes when I washed. It was a waterfall shower though, and the rest of the bathroom was fine.||||This was a good price, bed was comfortable, check in and out was fine but we didn't spend much time there (because Hangzhou is a fantastic place to see), but if you are looking for a place to have an affair that looks classy but isn't really- this...
Read moreIf you do not speak Mandarin, please do not stay at this hotel. Our group was on a business trip and our supplier booked this hotel for us - big mistake. To give one example, one evening we spent 2 hours trying to get them to understand that we wanted ice cubes - even a drawing of an ice cube did not help. In the end we had to call our contact in Hangzhou for help.||||The breakfast is bland and they only cater to the Chinese palette. The only exception is fried eggs.||||The bed is hard which was not a problem for me but if you like a soft bed, forget it.||||You have to keep the shower running for at least 15 minutes to get hot water.||||Lesson learnt, I will never stay at a hotel unless I have fully researched and approved the...
