Our party of 3 adults spent 3 nights at the Fuchun Mountain Golf Resort in early 12/2024. We came to Fuchun to see the scenaries that had inspired the famous 富春山居圖 painting. We booked 2 basic rooms (Linyin Garden View), but received free upgrades (Guizhou Lake View) at check in. I must admit our initial feelings as we arrived was one of creeping doubt, because the Fuyang city streets we had driven through (we drove in from the Hangzhou Xihu area) were very industrial, just giant factories one after another and the immediate area outside the property was just a bunch of small suburban farm homes and shops. Furthermore, as our car pulled up to the front lobby entrance, no one greeted us. Not a soul was in sight. Our driver had to poke his head inside and announce guests are here and service is needed. From there on, however, things only got better and better. So, yes, this was a quiet property. There wasn’t a lot of staff standing about. But, there was enough personnel to provide all the basic services expected. And I found they were very friendly, quick to respond, and efficient. During our 3.5 days here, we explored and enjoyed this beautiful hotel inside and out. The hotel itself (the main building) was simply grand. Its design and decor was a perfect balance of East Meets West, modernized traditional, understated elegance. The layout was a bit of a labyrinth. There were wings, corridors, and stairs you can go down to find restaurants, spa/gym/pool, conference rooms, sitting nooks, a small boat dock, and even an impressive collection of embroidery art on display. Our rooms were large and airy, spotless, the ceiling was high, and the windows opened onto the lake. The bathroom was spacious with a double sink and lots of counter space. Beds and pillows were very comfortable, definitely in line with 5 star international standards. Outside, there was a man-made lake with 2 groups of swans (or were they white geese?). They crisscrossed the lake during the day and slept below our windows at night. There was also a little children’s playground (with a pair of ducks) and what looked like a small amphitheater. Several short paths allowed us to walk the sizable grounds. Early one morning, we followed one across a little brook to the edge of the tea terrace. Another morning, we strolled down a road flanked by bamboo that led to the beautiful villas that stood apart from the main hotel. Everywhere, the atmosphere was tranquil and the views spectacular. We ate most of our meals at the hotel since we were unfamiliar with the area and didn’t really want to go out looking (this was the end of a 2 week trip). We tried both of the restaurants on-site (the Chinese and the Western/Fusion) and thought they were fine overall, since food/ingredients were fresh and of good quality. Taste and craft were okay, not great but acceptable. In truth, we were probably not too demanding at this point, as we had already gorged out during our previous stay in the HZ/Xihu area. In summary, our family really liked the Fuchun Mountain Golf Resort. We were very comfortable during our short stay. We really appreciated the quiet calmness of the place as well as the warm service provided by the entire staff. We would love to return. It was an easy car ride from the HZ city area, and it was easy to hire cars to nearby and more distant attractions. Lastly, for those interested in the 富春山居圖, there is a replica of the painting (both parts and to scale) displayed downstairs...
Read moreMy husband and I went to Fuchun Resort for a friend's wedding and stayed there for two nights. First of all, the customer service at this hotel was excellent. ||||ROOM: ||The views of the mountains and the pond are incredible. The rooms are clean and beautiful. I was pleasantly surprised to find snacks (grapes and peanuts) when we arrived to the room. The hotel also had complimentary drinks and snacks in the room's fridge. I enjoyed receiving a note with the weather report for the next day.||||The resort also had awesome robes, slippers and toiletries in the room for you to use.||||Some of our friends stayed in suites, which were much larger and had an incredible view of the pond. ||||PROTIP: Pay close attention where your room is located. The resort is very large and it's easy to get lost (It happened to me). ||||This resort is also filled with photo opportunities. It's so beautiful. It's hard not to take advantage of that. ||||FOOD:||||The meals were not included in our hotel stay price but the resort does have restaurants onsite offering Western and Chinese food. We shared small plates at the Asian restaurant with friends and we walked away happy with our choice. We also tried the breakfast buffet, which was amazing. You could grab food and coffee/tea from the buffet. And let me tell you, I still dream about the noodles offered. You can also order à la carte for your main course. ||||AMENITIES: ||||The indoor pool at the hotel is incredible but keep in mind you need to wear a swimming cap. If the pool is not your thing, you can also use a hot tub outdoors. ||||Near the pool area, you'll find the hotel's spa. My husband and I paid for 1-hour massages, which were incredible and at a good price. We also loved being offered tea before and after our massage. ||||The hotel also offers a boat service that allows you to reach the golf course area. ||||There are several activities offered at this hotel, including tea leaf picking. We didn't have the time to do them, but they are available, if you are interested. ||||Needless to say, we loved our stay and would...
Read moreWe had 4 nights here and were offered an upgrade on arrival, lovely well equipped room, excellent facilities and amenities. Complimentary mini bar, which was nice. What we liked: Daily planned activities included, you don't have to do any but nice if you do, we went cycling, painting, afternoon tea and a trip on the boat over the lake. Secluded and excellent views. Impressive resort and the most amazing pool and spa. Very helpful team and they arranged anything we needed, trip into Hangzhou where they provided a phone for us to take in case of any problems, not the Hotels fault but we couldn't find our driver from the airport, we got a Taxi and they arranged a free ride to the station on way back. Hotel also arranged our train to Shanghai. Excellent breakfast choices, continental, Asian and British selections. 2 good restaurants and really good food especially the Asian Restaurant. Lots of board games well set out for you to use at your leisure, Billiards room. Few pointers, on occasion we felt a little "over serviced", in restaurant we were often one of a few guests and felt we were being watched, I know the staff need to do their job but sometimes this is a little uncomfortable, i don't like being watched and am quite capable of asking for service when needed, no need to stand within 3m of me, stand a little out of the way but within eye distance. Sometimes it seemed that team wanted to finish eg Lounge Bar is open till 11 and at 10:30, chairs are being moved, covers taken inside and your being offered your bill, maybe I wanted that last drink, maybe not. Complimentary bed time night cap was available, but we found that it was only offered if we were early. At dinner, we hadn't finished our main course when we were asked if we wanted desert! Not our fault Hotel wasn't busy. That said had a fabulous restful and relaxing time and loved it here and would highly...
