Quite average for a 'Western style' Hotel in China. Room was spacious, but dated - with an air of guests past. The balcony was nice, but looked on by others. The bathroom was between the bedroom and the balcony, with a lovely deep soak bath and separate toilet / shower area. The blinds and curtains, again dated, need to be renewed. Two steps led up to the bathroom area with a desk, TV, kettle etc. The bed was large and comfortable, and a range of TV stations / films on demand. I had to wipe down the surfaces around the room, as they weren't as clean as they could have been. The gym had good facilities, although the cleaner insisted on hoovering and wiping the machine I was on whilst I was still on it which wasn't great! Careful with walking outside, as the exit by the gym is a one way door so you can't come back in, and needed to go round the other side to try and get back in. The pool was closed for refurbishment. Spoke to the trip desk to try and find out some more information about the local area, they didn't speak English but helped with translation through the phone. Location is ok if self-driving. Overall, an ok stay but wouldn't be...
Read moreGreat location - short scenic drive to train station. Great spot on lake. Also close to some other Chinese restaurants etc if you want to leave the resort. Good service. Clean. Excellent amenities, extensive water activities at reasonable price - even my 2 year old gave several a go. Indoor and outdoor play facilities. Indoor and outdoor pool if you visit during summer. New kids playground being built. Volleyball pitch that doubles up as a sandpit for kids. Childrens scheduled activities everyday of the week. Little train or bikes available to go around resort. Beautiful grounds. Well placed loungers. Lots of outdoor seating at restaurants. Cheap Qiandao beer. Little hike up mountain available. Live music in evening. Not very expensive, but not very good dinner buffet. I would mark them down for the room. The room was fairly expensive for the lake view but actually it was right by a main road and all we could hear was traffic and road works when we sat out there to enjoy the view - not AT ALL what we had pictured. If you are placed in middle of hotel it would be fine, but we were very disappointed by this. We had to keep the...
Read moreI strongly recommend you experience a stay at Hilton Hangzhou Qiandaohu. It was one of the most comfortable stays ever. Maksim, one of the hotel employees, helped us from the start to the end. As a Korean, traveling in China is extremely difficult because of the language barrier. Although, I speak English, most of the Chinese do not. But, Maksim was able to speak 4 languages fluently; Korean, English, Russian and Chinese. He was happy to answer any questions regardless of time. So, if you are a foreigner considering a visit to Qiandaohu, Hilton is the place, and find Maksim when you do so. The hotel upgraded my room when I got there and prepared a nice welcoming fruit in the room. The hotel has a lot of fun activities, and nice restaurants. My girlfriend and I had an unforgettable...
