Holiday Inn Express Hangzhou East Station — Hotel in Hangzhou City

Their service was really OUTSTANDING - better than even 5 star hotels where I stayed before where I stayed in Xiamen and Pujiang! They really went the extra mile!!👍🏻🌻😅The reception people were very friendly and helpful - those who couldn't speak English only took out there phones and used a translator. The 2 gentlemen gave advice and the location where to get the waterbus on the Great Canal as well as the boats on West Lake....They sent my list of allergies to the manager of the kitchen. The one moring he showed me what I can eat an when I asked for olive oil (I thought they have it in the kitchen, but then they went to buy olie oil!! They even made fresh juice for me because I couldn't drink the ones they had! At the buffet all the dishes are labled with what it is and can you for most know if it has allergens ir not! 👍🏻😊🌺I was totally overwhelmed by their willingness, service, friendliness and kindness!! 👍🏻😅🌺🌻 I will definitely come again if I would come again to Hanghou!!! I will also go to their other hotels if there are ones where I will travel. It’s okay for a short stay if you’re looking for somewhere close to the railway station. Not sure if this is for all the rooms but my room 909 did not have functional A/C controls. When I asked front desk they said it should work and they’ll get someone to adjust it. What that ended up meaning was turning the fan controls to max (even tho i’ve tried that), opening up the windows to let the smog, heat and humidity in, and put an electric fan in the room. The actual room temperature never went below 22.8C which sounds okay except it was humid, stuffy and felt a lot warmer than that. The hallway was cooler than my room. There is no gym, not even a small one. When I checked in, there was a group ahead of me and even though I had walked up to the desk separately there was zero acknowledgment. So I thought the guy was just busy finishing up his work. Then someone behind me came to retrieve luggage and it wasn’t until I asked is this check in that he finally realized I wasn’t part of the previous group. He could’ve easily at least acknowledged my presence to avoid this type of confusion. Overall the only benefit is the close proximity to the railway station but otherwise I would not recommend...
