Stayed one night recently as part of a group tour. Check in was quick and efficient and the lobby is fairly jaw dropping. Lots of huge spaces and oversized decorations and marble. Our room was in tower B and was very large and luxurious. We had a nice view of the building across the road and the light and fountain show. Nice amenities in the room such as robes, slippers, etc. Room was very large. (I see comments in other reviews about small rooms - possibly in building A or another part of the hotel?????)||We made use of the pool (building A) and it is quite lovely with 25m lap lanes as well as a play/open swim area. You must have a swim cap to use the pool. The staff at the fitness center will sell you one for 30 RMB if you don’t have one. Locker rooms are very nice with showers, towels, shampoo, etc all provided. Steam room and sauna are available. Workout room has weights, treadmills, etc. There is also a smaller gym in building b but it was unstaffed when we were there. Fitness center opens at 7am, which is too late to squeeze in a workout if you are on a group with an early departure. ||Breakfast was fine - typical Chinese hotel breakfast offerings like soup and steamed buns and such. ||The biggest downside to the hotel is the location - more than an hours drive from the west lake area or city center. There are absolutely no stores or restaurants near the hotel at all. There is a small convenience store in building B if you want cup noodles or a soda. Otherwise you only other option is the restaurant (dinner buffet about $20 USD but included all you can drink beer and wine). ||Staff has limited English. They are friendly and helpful and you should have a translator app available to help you with these sort of common challenges for...

Read moreWe stayed here in a trip to China with UTO vacation. It was towards the end of the trip and the hotels were getting better. Coming to New Century very tired after a long day, we were beat lugging our suitcases into the grand foyer. Our collective jaws dropped. The foyer was simply massive, a bunch of tourists gathering normally an eyesore was only a drop in a bucket. We laughed and said to each other "are we really staying here?" Front desk staff were friendly despite limited English as expected, but we were getting by. The service desk was on the left side so the central view was not obstructed. The foyer filled with commercial booth as some business convention was on. The place was filled with dressed-up Chinese people which made Canadian tourists look like bums. We had to walk through a long corridor on the right side, lined up with restaurants and boutique stores, to the elevator. This was our favorite part as sections were designed with different color themes and hanging mini lights, looked simply stunning. The elevator foyer's design was glamorous. Needless to say, the room was outstanding. We used the gym and a bit surprised it was small, but was busy. The next day breakfast in the in-house restaurant was just unbelievable. It was enormously big. And there was so much food. Was it breakfast or lunch or supper? All of the above was the suitable answer. We are grateful for an opportunity to stay here and had a chance to know the place. We will stay here...
