Recently stayed here for 1 night on a Trip a Deal Tour and like most of the hotels we stayed at, the initial view was quite positive with a clean looking open foyer – dominated by a life sized wooden horse used as a light. ||The rooms were a good size, bit both the rooms and corridors needed updated carpets and a lick of paint. There were 2 guest elevators and a third one used by staff was also brought into service. Even with 3 working lifts, they still struggled the following morning when a large number of people needed to be out of their rooms at the one time.||We wanted to go out for a meal but it was raining so we decided to eat in the hotel. Downstairs served Western food but 1st floor had Chinese. We decided on the Chinese option and were very glad to find it was one of the best meals we had while in China. They had large pictures of the dishes which assisted in ordering. The stuffed Lotus Root was the outstanding dish. ||Breakfast was very busy due to the large number of tour busses staying. Some people were stuck on a bench looking at a blank wall 30cm in front of them!||We were unable to judge the location, however we were told there were a few food options close by.||Overall, the hotel was okay, saved by the...
Read moreThis place had a comfy bed and hot shower which felt awesome after a hot, very muggy day of Hangzhou. But thats about it. The entire place had a funk in the air. I gagged walking the halls. Had to get to the room or outside fast to get clean air. There is a restaurant in the second floor with all kinds of fish to cook in an aquarium like setting. My kid loved that, especially some of the weird looking fish they had. This did make the hotel smell fishy. The downstairs restaurant was also the worst in all of china. How do you mess up pizza? The dough tasted rotten like it had gone bad. The breakfast was just ok, not terrible but nothing to write home about. Would not recommend this hotel to anyone. Again, if you are only looking for a comfy bed and a hot shower, then...
Read moreWe only stayed here for one night as part of our TripADeal tour package. All in all it was okay (least favourite of the 4 hotels we stayed in on the tour). The beds were firm but good, the pillows were memory foam. Really weird "bathroom" layout with the sink and mirror in the main bedroom (no door = no privacy). There was a door on the separate toilet (which had a bucket in it because they advised guests not to flush the toilet paper away) and a separate door to the shower, which had good pressure.||Breakfast was chaotic as a couple of coach loads of chinese tourists had left just before we went into the restaurant but the choices were okay.||Come out of the hotel, turn left and walk about 5 minutes and there is a nice restaurant, a supermarket,...
