Crowne Plaza Hefei Rongqiao — Hotel in Hefei

The Crowne Plaza Rongqiao is a good hotel, so let's get the major downside over with right away: they had turned off air conditioning building-wide in October. Yes, October usually hardly requires AC in Hefei, however, well, there was a two-weeks-long heatwave during my three-weeks stay in Hefei, and our initial room was 30°C (86°F) at 6pm and only slightly cooler all night long. You gotta turn AC back on when there's a heatwave or expect your customers to complain.

That said, the manager on site made a good effort to move us to a North-facing (hence cooler) room and also remained patient when we rejected the first alternate room due to a distinct smell of cigarette smoke. In the end we decided to put up with the cooler-but-still-warm room because our stay at this hotel was going to last only 3 nights.

Other pluses were the clean and well equipped rooms, reliable wi-fi, friendly service, and the rich breakfast buffet. The vicinity to Hefei's beautiful Xiaoyaojin park (逍遥津公园) makes it a good location, though unfortunately the closest metro stop is too far away. I would come back, but only in the...

But hotel laundry was terrible. I sent 3 shirts for dry cleaning and found out some buttons of all shirts were either broken or damaged. I’m surprised that although our company is the hotel’s corporate account and I’ve stayed here several times, no one from the hotel has explained to me how this happened. No explanation! And I was told by the Sales that if they repaired my shirts, they wouldn’t agree to do dry cleaning for me after that as it was 50% more expensive than normal. What kind of logic is this? I had to leave all three shirts at hotel for repair and needed to buy new clothes right after as I had another work trip! This is the first time I experienced such laundry service in my life! Let alone the housekeep prepared used body lotion on my arrival day. It’s almost empty.

I will for sure complain to our company to see if we can get another hotel with better service! I evenI gave a very high review for my last stay! 9 or 10!

I could honestly say that Crowne Plaze Hotel Hefei Rongqiao is definitely one of the best hotels in Hefei! The hotel is located at a central location, quiet but a few steps away from the bustling city center. The view towards the river and the Xiaoyaojin Park is unparalleled. The hotel facility may not be the biggest and the newest in Hefei, but the services at this hotel made it outstanding from the others. From entering the hotel to departing the location, I felt truly a home away from home! The General Manager - Mr. Dong and his team Sales Director - Mr. Liu, Front Desk Director - Ms. Han and F&B Director - Mr. Ma have managed this hotel up to the highest standard!
