DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Heyuan — Hotel in Heyuan

The Beautiful DoubleTree by Hilton was a huge disappointment but not without a few nice moments. It's in the middle of Covid 19, 2021 May 1 & 2 check out on the 3rd.||||A much-needed getaway to celebrate our 16th wedding anniversary so we decided to stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton. ||||They allowed for early check-in at half the rate on top of the full rate which is perfectly acceptable but there were zero (none) amenities. ||They had our anniversary cake in the room as planned. The room was clean but not complete. Only 3in1 instant coffee but at least we got our cookie. The furniture chair was broken with a cigarette burn, no sofa bed as promised so our daughter slept on the couch, stained with rips footbed rest, at the base of the bed. The room service spaghetti bolognese was hard noodles with ketchup extra sugar. In fairness, I complained to the manager, he agreed and sent up a proper spaghetti bolognese with kraft powder cheese in a tiny bowl. The breakfast buffet was disgusting! Noodles hanging off the serving tray, raw bacon, hard eggs, guests were piling food high on their plates while trailing a mess on the floors....

This hotel is in a great location, the view isn't anything special, but at night one can have a nice view of the night sky from their room, which is nice, not so much light pollution. The pools were great, the outdoor pool is great for how empty and big they were. The kids area would be better if there was a slide or something. The breakfast buffet is awesome! The staff outside likes to smoke by the pool when there are not many patrons, its worth commenting on this in review as that is how change happens. The breakfast area (outside tables) need to be regulated, otherwise people will smoke right next to your table-if you don't like that be sure to pick a table inside and away from the doors to the patio. The fitness center is dimly lit but well stoked and maintained-basically new, don't think it gets used much (not a bad thing). The indoor pool area is also dimly lit, but its pleasnt. The sauna is nice, takes a long time to heat up though. Overall, for not really in HeYuan for a long time, it provided something to do while just relaxing and not going out to far or for too long....
