I CANNOT believe that Shreton is really "Sheraton", I haven't got this kind of service from any SPG member Hotel.
From the first moment I arrived at to the end of the journey, every momemt at Sheraton Hohhot is a kind of terribly unsatisfied moment,
and I dont want to visit your place at all for the next time, rather I would stay in any Inn.
Below is that I have experienced at Sheraton Hohhot.
Check-in
At the moment I checked-in, I surely mentioned that I was a Platinum member of yours
and the staff who helped me answered that he knew that.
But there was no other service that the Platinum member would have to get,
for instance, welcome greetings, "room-upgrade" and so on.
Moreover, later I found that I didnt get the proper "room-upgrade" service,
because three of other friends of mind stayed at the pretty great room,
but only me, the room was very ordinary, which definitely was not upgraded.
(You guys can compare two room, 2305 and 2307)
I spent all my effort to get be the Platinum member of SPG group,
but in this kind service, who would fight for getting that?
Room Condition
At that night I was deadly tired, finished shower, put the body lotion on my body,
that your hotel offered me. But it was not body lotion, but a hair conditioner.
Wrong thing was at the WRONG PLACE!
I had no choice to take shower again, that made me much more tired.
(What kind of hotel makes customer MORE tired? Isnt it the hotel must make me comportable?)
Room Condition 2
I was about to sleep, but it was not easy to get sleep though I was dead tired.
Becuase of the MOSQITOE!!!! I haven't met this kind of room condition at any 5 star hotel before,
though it is in the middle of summer, there could be a mosqitoe at any place in the season,
but it shouldn't be in the 5 star hotel,
finally, I got a little mosqitoe bite on the middle of my nose.
4.After Service
Next day when I checked-out, frankley speaking, I already told all the complaints that I felt to the hall manger of your hotel
and she promised that she figured out what i told her and would give me a phone.
However, already past 7 days, I havent got any call or even a text messege from her,
that makes me much more dissapointed on you, Sheraton Hohhot.
I am afraid that I would not recommend your place to all the friends of mine,
and now I lost trust even to the other Sheraton.

Read moreI reserved a non-smoking room for two nights because I knew I would be checking in very early in the morning of my second day. The hotel unilaterally cancelled my first night DESPITE having spoken with an SPG rep before my trip AND having exchanged emails with the hotel manager (Ida Chen) telling her to hold my reservation because I knew I would want to go immediately to my room to rest before my meetings.
When I arrived at the hotel at 8AM, they told me that they only had a smoking room (room 1805) and that I would have to wait for it to be cleaned. When I told them that I can not stay in a smoking room, they told me to wait. When I asked them why I didn't have the room that I had paid for the night before, I was told that the "hotel was full". What?!?!!? But I had paid for it! They had given it to someone else despite my having paid for it.
But it gets worse!
Imagine my surprise when they gave me the keys to room 1805! They said that it's a non-smoking room now because she had declared it as such! I was too tired to complain further. Not surprisingly, room smells funky. Everyone on this floor walks around smoking in the hallways. It is horrible!
I was never offered an apology, comp points or anything. I have not yet heard a reply, but I suspect that they are going to charge me for the points and cash I used to pay for the room for the first night (which they cancelled unilaterally and against my instructions.).
This is a nightmare property. I'm only glad that I can check out tomorrow!

Read moreThe experience overall at the Sheraton Hohhot was a good one. I was able to get an early check in at 9am and a late check out at 4pm, despite not having gold or platinum status. I was also upgraded to a nicer room. Probably a good hotel to enjoy your elite benefits. I speak Chinese, so perhaps that worked to my advantage when charming the desk for more.
There some confusion over the discount for in-house guests at the bar/cafe Lobby Lounge. The discount is 20% off, but I didn't receive the discount after my order. The staff said the discount applies to purchases of two or more items in a single order, yet that detail wasn't mentioned anywhere. When they learned I was an SPG member, suddenly I got the discount - although this shouldn't have made a difference. No issues receiving 20% off at the Italian restaurant Bene.
Service was excellent at Feast. I received complimentary fruit and seafood. However, the hamburger I ordered was not a minced beef burger, as indicated in the menu, but rather a steak sandwich, which was disappointing.
The bathroom was quite nice, although the rest of my room was pretty bland. Overall, the hotel is pretty quiet - I wouldn't say this Sheraton is a hub of activity for the city. Still, I would recommend it if...
