*Before you camp here. ●There is a a water point but its untreated spring water. Assume - safe to cook with but not to consume. ○So, bring your own drinking water as there are no big shops in the village below the campsite. ●There are two squatter toilets slightly up the hill beside the camp site. They have toilet paper and soap but are not cleaned regularly. Many hikers, mountain bikers and campers uses this toilet. Beware of frogs at night. ●There are loads of mosquitos. Take repellent with you. ●You can take a taxi to the campsite but the driver might hesitate to do so as the entry road towards the hill is rather shit.
Campsite. Stayed here ( 1/3/2025 to 2/3/2025) ●There are bbq pits, benches and lots of flat sites to setup camp. ●On clear nights you can see stars. Good for star gazing. ●There is almost no noise except for the waterfall nearby and the birds and bugs. ●Direct sunlight hits the camp at around 10AM but there are parts of the site that remain in the shade even as the sun passes over. Still pack some sunblock. ●There are lots of branches and logs around if you wanna make a fire.
The waterfall nearby is easy to access after you walk past the bridge. There is a stone path on the left side. You can swim there but the rocks are slippery and it's gets deep very quickly. *Avoid during rainy season.
There are two reservoirs. The one closest to the campsite is a straight uphill hike. You will pass a farm were they sell some refreshments but it was under construction/renovation.
Beware of mountainbikers coming down the hill. Some stop and slow down others just zoom past you.
The closest MTR is Kam Shueng Road. And you can take the 71 minibus to the small town at the bottom of the campsite , from Yuen Long. There is a large bus stop about 2.2 km from the campsite. Taking an Uber or a Taxi, if you have lots of camp stuff, will be the best way to get to the site.
