An exceptional place to stay while on business, in this relatively obscure industrial city about 100 km North of Shenzhen. It will surprise you at every turn. From the rather typical looking building's entrance, you go up twenty some floors in an elevator and will be surprised by the expansive and beautiful lobby area where you check-in. Then up a different set of elevators to the rooms, where you'll be surprised by the well appointed, roomy, very peaceful and extremely clean room with a lovely view of the city out of oversized windows. In the morning, you return to the lobby, go around the corner towards the other elevators and are surprised by the incredible spread of delicious breakfast items served at Cafe BLD's complimentary buffet, to enjoy while looking at the fantastic views provided by the floor-to-ceiling windows that line the Cafe's walls. Come dinnertime, you head one floor down in the elevator to the Yuzu Japanese Grill, where you will be surprised by the beauty of the space's design, and shocked by the quality of the excellent sashimi and fixed menu options. Excellent accommodation, facilities, food, and service - much like most Asian Bonvoy affiliated properties, they put U.S. Bonvoy ones to downright shame. What day (Asian) and night (American) difference!||||Next day, while strolling the surrounding streets, you stop for lunch at a Korean restaurant a short walk from the hotel and are surprised by the authenticity and taste of their offerings. Then, on your stroll back, you will notice a vegetarian restaurant with pictures of mouthwatering dishes dishes displayed on its windows, and make a mental note to go there for lunch next time. Across the plaza, you see a barbershop and are reminded that you need a trim. You decide to go in, and walk out 20 minutes later with a decent and the cheapest haircut of your life. At night, you're strolling farther out, enjoying the relatively cool air after a hot day. 10 minutes later, you encounter a large establishment that appeared to be offering spa and massage services. You walk-in on a whim, pay the equivalent of about $25, and get a one hour pressure point massage that makes you feel like a new person.||||All of these things are possible, within the property and a few minutes walk around it, without knowing a single word of Mandarin.||||Surprises you...

Read moreLocation: not much to shop or see around the hotel itself but all you need is a cab ride to get you to places
Attraction: Huizhou West Lake - takes about 20mins on a cab. make sure to wrap up if you go. quite windy at the time. can easily spend 2 hours there walking around Gaobang Mountain - a must go mountain/park. you can ride up and down by bicycle, or if you're some exercise, you can easily walk up and around the lake (18km) and back down apparently. we did the hiking up and down but didnt do the lake one since it was a bit late and the park became quite dark
Food: went to Ou Sheng Restaurant just 10mins on foot from the hotel. we ordered chicken, pig stomach, soup and corn juice. costs only RMB200. were like wow thats bargain!! food is well tasty as well! for dinner we went to 竹园农家饭店, 20mins from the hotel on a cab. it was deliiiiiicious! i love how they make their soup using real fire. yes. the camping fire ones lol. pretty awesome! weird that they have an indian food cart that sells banana pancakes. who cares? they're especially tasty after being stuffed by 3 tasty farm style dishes
Hotel: spacious rooms with stunning views of the west lake. highest hotel in huizhou i believe. the bathroom is impressive! too bad i didnt have time to make use of the bathtub! next time!
Buffet: it has a huge variety of buffet items during breakfast. i love how they have egg and juice counter! awesome!
Executive Lounge: fantastic views
