Hands down my favourite stay out of my 10 months of travel!Cutest little hotel managed by a family in Furong Zhen. Think all-inclusive home stay with that traditional feel, but with all the modern luxuries. The balcony rooms all have great views of the river at night, during the day, and even when it’s pouring rain. The staff are all incredibly kind and attentive, even helping to pick me up from the train station, carrying my suitcases, and helping me plan my trip! The breakfast is made whenever you wake up in the morning, and they even offer local teas to pair with it. I could probably spend a long time talking about this place, but here are my highlights as a solo female traveller:- Trustworthy advice!- Clean bedrooms (free from mosquitos!)- For the backpackers: THEY HAVE LAUNDRY AND DRYER MACHINES INCLUDED! Also no need to pay extra for detergent!!!- Checkout is at 12:00 PM so you can actually rest and relax here.- Bathroom has a partitioned shower!- Affiliated with the hanfu photography and rental store next door (offers beautiful photoshoots, see attached pictures) so you can get a bit of a discount too:)- BONUS: Gave me cute snacks and gifts during my stay 🥹If you’re visiting Zhangjiajie or Fenghuang Ancient Town (Fenghuang Gucheng), definitely make an overnight stay here part of...
Read moreI want to be completely honest, and I hope the owner takes this as constructive criticism. In terms of location and service, the hotel is acceptable. The front desk staff was kind enough to upgrade us to a top-floor room with a lovely view, which we appreciated. However, this is where the issues began. The room was very cold, and the heating system didn’t distribute warmth evenly throughout the space because the room design was VERY odd. The sink was not in the bathroom but out on the balcony. While the balcony was covered, there was no heating in that area, which meant we had to brush our teeth and wash our faces in freezing temperatures, around 0°C when we were there in December. The hot water in the bathroom took about 15 minutes to heat up, so you can imagine how frustrating it was standing in the cold bathroom waiting for it while being splashed with icy cold water. When it finally did warm up, the water pressure was so low it took forever just to wet your hair or rinse off the soap. Finally, the surrounding stores kept burning woods so the hotel was very smokey, and we were seriously concerned about a fire accident because the hotel is very old. I hope the owner will take these advice into consideration and upgrade the facility, as well as safety measures, for...
Read moreWe had a memorable stay in this river-side hotel - Very unique set up & decorated. Felt very secured with permit entrance.Managing staff was very friendly & helpful in providing us with information of the area - places of attractions, food & transport. Not forgetting the complimentary daily fruit & sweet basket. It was an added advantage to guests of the hotel for the free shuttle service to & from the high speed train station. Worry-free.The upper floor verandah is another added advantage for us to view the river, waterfall & lightings. At the same time to enjoy our chinese tea brewing with the provided chinese tea set at the verandah.Laundry is provided free by the staff & we can put them to dry at the open space on the verandah. It was convenient for us to walk to the open air & in-door performances.Managing Staff, Miss Liew sent us off to the free shuttle transport at the entrance with free bottles of water & oranges for our journey.Really missed this beautiful &...
