Zhuoma Inn — Hotel in Hutiaoxia

I came to Tibet Guest House and met ZhuoMa for the first time in June 2011. In the past years, I have often missed my time there and ZhuoMa. So I went back in September 2023！ZhuoMa smile is like warm sunshine. She and her family are very kind. Everyone who comes here feels like they are home. Both she and her son DaWa can make delicious organic food. The inn is backed by Haba Snow Mountain and faces the northern foothills of Yulong Snow Mountain and the Jinsha River Canyon. You can relax in a clean and cozy bed after a long hike. Each room has a large window and balcony. You can enjoy the morning mist, amazing mountain view, sunshine, fresh air, and ZhuoMa's hand-made Tibetan butter tea or coffee. When I went back the inn had been expanded and completely renovated, but ZhuoMa remains the same! I met hikers from the U.S.A. and Singapore. ZhuoMa's husband teacher Lv drove us to the trails point. Zhuoma Inn (卓玛客栈) or Tibet Guesthouse is a peaceful retreat located in the heart of Tiger Leaping Gorge, away from the hustle and bustle. It’s just a 15-minute walk from Tina’s Guesthouse (where the bus stop is), making it convenient yet tranquil. The guesthouse is run by the wonderful 小旅 (Xiao Li) and his family, who made our stay truly memorable. He not only managed the entire guesthouse but also picked us up from Tina’s, checked us in, handled the housekeeping, and even cooked for us yummy pancakes 🥞 ! He also kindly drove us to the trailhead for our hike down to the river the next day.

Our room, which was in the corner of the building, offered a stunning 90-degree view of the mountain across the street—breathtaking! The place was quiet, clean, and affordable, making it a perfect spot for a relaxing stay. We highly recommend Zhuoma Inn for anyone visiting Tiger Leaping Gorge.

This is the Tibetan guest house. We have been so nicely welcomed by Zhuoma and her family that we felt like at home. The most beautiful house of the valley, Tibetan architecture, beautiful rooms with magnificent views, and hot showers and heat thanks to the reverse climatization ! Very important at this time of the year. Definitively the best place to be in Tiger leap gorge. You can hike directly to the middle gorges from the guest house (about 3 hours round trip) and they can bring you to the beginning or middle of the upper trail hike that ends at the guest house. Family is very helpful , tried to find medecine for me when I was sick and even invited us by the fireplace by the kitchen. Thank you again for your kindness and we hope to see you...
