江门万达嘉华酒店 — Hotel in Jiangmen

I recently completed a month-long trip to China, during which I stayed at several hotels in Shanghai, Suzhou, Guangzhou, and Xiamen. Unfortunately, my stay at Wanda Realm Jiangmen was the most disappointing of the entire trip and did not reflect the service standards I would expect from a hotel of this reputation.||Upon arrival, I had four large and three small pieces of luggage. No staff were available to assist, and when I raised the issue, the manager on duty, Mr. Steven Feng, dismissively remarked, “Oh, there must just not be a person outside.” This set the tone for what would become a consistently poor experience.||The check-in process was handled unprofessionally. Mr. Feng expressed visible irritation over the reservation being for one guest instead of two, criticized my mother for how she signed her name, and rushed us to immediately decide on adding breakfast—stating that the cost would increase in the morning. After a long day of travel, being treated with such impatience and discourtesy was both unpleasant and unacceptable.||The following day, when family friends dropped off additional luggage, once again no staff were available to help. I was forced to retrieve a push cart myself, announcing in Chinese that I would be taking it. During this time, Steven Feng and his staff were present and made eye contact, but all chose to focus on their phones rather than offer any assistance.||I believe other staff members were generally more willing to assist, but in Mr. Steven Feng’s presence, they appeared hesitant to do so. His behavior toward us gave the impression of a personal hostility that created an unwelcoming environment throughout our stay.||It is deeply disappointing that a property promoted as one of Jiangmen’s “best” hotels provided the worst service I encountered during my travels.||Fortunately, at check-out I was assisted by a different manager, Jack Huang, who apologized and acknowledged that the service I experienced was not in line with the hotel’s standards.
