Holiday Inn Express Jinan High-Tech Zone — Hotel in Jinan

The stop in Jinan was for 3 days of business for my partner, before commencing on 6 days of sightseeing across China. ||||We had booked a standard twin room, which was very spacious and had two comfortable king-single beds. We had expected one double bed, but realise now that this needs to be specifically requested at check in.||The room was on the 8th floor, and views were over some high rise residential buildings and some recreational areas which were very well maintained. ||The room was very quiet and we had no trouble sleeping. Beds were very comfortable and room was neat and clean. We tend to leave the 'do not disturb' sign on the door for short hotel stays, so the room was not serviced while we were there. ||The room included a large television, desk and comfortable sized bathroom and shower. Toweling slippers, towels and complimentary bottled water was also provided. ||The room only had three available plug points which resulted in some juggling of phones, laptop and camers etc. but overall not a problem. ||||Breakfast was included with the room and was set in a lovely open and trendy dining room on the 3rd floor. The buffet style catered for both Western and Chinese tastes and food appeared to be freshly prepared each morning and was very tasty. On the morning of our departure, we arrived for breakfast ahead of the official start time, but were still welcomed by the staff who ensure that we had enough to each before departing. We were very impressed.||||Reception staff were equally accommodating and were happy to provide directions and Chinese names for tourist sites which made communication with taxi drivers much easier. They were also happy to organise taxis at any time, and ensured that we had somewhere comfortable to wait and then personally escorted us to the taxi. ||Check out was quick and painless. ||||In terms of location, there are some good restaurants right next to the hotel and the city centre was only about 30 minutes by taxi (at a cost of about 40 RMB one way) so most of the tourist attractions in Jinan are easily accessible from the hotel.||||Overall, the experience was very good and a very comfortable welcome to China. I was on a business trip. I stayed in this hotel for 18 days (4th July to 18th July 2025). This hotel is quite good in most of the aspects. I will rate front desk service is the best. I appreciate some of the staffs for their assistance and cooperation. Mr Jackson is perfect, he can communicate in english as well and always ready to help. Mr Tom is a cool guy. His behaviour is quite good. He assisted me in most of the things during my stay. Mia, is a helping and nice girl, she booked taxis and gave print out of the documents & always ready to help. Amy, is happy and energetic girl. She assisted me in getting food from nearby restaurants & booked taxis for me. Overton, is also supportive. I wish them all the best in their career.

Hotel is clean and house keeping staff is perfect.

Restaurant is also good and their staffs is also good. But in their menu most of the things are non vegetarian, they must include some vegetarian stuffs. They provide only breakfast but they should offer meals(Lunch/Dinner).

I will recommend this hotel for stay. "This was my first trip to China and it changed my perception about China and Chinese people. Chinese people are very helping by nature and their hospitality is great.

I've had a great stay here from February to March. I stayed in the 8th floor and the view from my room is Jinan City, which is great view!||||Their breakfast does satisfy my Chinese tastebud greatly, and they also provides local Shandong food like Jianbing. But I guess won't satisfy Westerner.||||As an additional note, this hotel is not located in the city centre therefore it's a little far from popular attractions such as Baotu Spring or Daming Lake. However due to its proximity to High Tech Zone, this hotel is great for business purposes.||||The only complaints of this hotel is their hot water system which is unforgiving and unstable. It's unforgiving as only a few degrees to the hot will render the water too hot and a few degrees to cool will render the water cold.||Also the water temperature does not hold to my set temperature, as it varies greatly so it often moves itself to too hot and too...
