We arrived at Yanji Airport around 3:30 pm and the cab ride to the hotel cost $50 RMB, which is approximately 7.25 USD. Yes, the room is bit of outdated as mentioned by other reviewers. However, we really didn't spend too much time in the room. We had a deluxe single room and it is well equipped with all the amenities. The concierge at the lobby Mr. Guao is really helpful with our inquiry; he even set up a last minute sightseeing outing for us; great local driver that took us to the Changbaishan. We could speak both Mandarin and Korean, thus we had no problem finding local dining and other relaxing activities (great foot massage in the proximity of the hotel) The hotel staff is little undertrained, but we expected that in this border city(w. North Korea) we chose this hotel based on its proximity to the airport and Yanji West train station and we enjoyed our stay and just a tip for travelers that doesn't speak Mandarin or Korean, it would be easier to stay in Changchun than this little city; it's relatively safe and air quality is better than city such as Shenyang or Beijing. BTW the cab fare from the hotel to Yanji West station cost about $23 RMB-3.45 USD. Two high speed train scheduled (one in the morning and one in the afternoon)daily that would take you to Jilin, Changchun, Shenyang and Dalian. Spend the money and buy the First Class seat and it's well worth the money and beats the hassle at...
Read moreMake sure to write down the address of the hotel, because the Taxi drivers at the airport, did not even know the word "hotel". When I finally was able to roam and find the address online, I wasn't even sure I was brought to the right place, because there were no signs in English on the building, indicating that this was the right hotel. The receptionist and the staff spoke no English - so that made things a lot more difficult for me. The deluxe room was a large room with a full desk and "living room" space and a massive bed. There was however a window into the bathroom from the living room area which i found interesting. The hotel has a Korean themed restaurant in the back with live performances in the evening, but be careful being approached by an overeager "masseus" at midnight after having withdrawn cash from the ATM. The views from the 20th floor are nice, but nothing impressive. The buffet in the morning was extensive, but did not offer coffee or water. The gift shop in the back has some interesting souvenirs and there seemed to be a casino on the 7th floor, but that was only judging by the sign in...
