It would really help if you speak Mandarin if you're an independent traveller staying in this hotel. ||||We did not come across anybody who seemed to be to carry out a basic English conversation here. A colleague who chose not to go out for dinner one night had to go without when he tried to call room service for food ... the operator hung up on him.||||The hotel is in the process of being upgraded, so when making a booking, try to find out which wing you will be put in. I think the new wing is pricier however one side of the building faces a recently demolished area which will no doubt become a construction site for a new development soon enough.||||This is a hotel that caters more to domestic Chinese tour groups and has a very odd room numbering system, so some colleagues got lost the first few nights there.||||Air conditioning also does not work properly and rooms were often so hot we had to keep room doors open as the air from the hotel corridors was cooler. At night, it was necessary to sleep with windows open to allow the cooler desert air to come in - and this wasn't the height of summer.||||It's in a good location in the city - about a 5 minute cab ride from the night market. The breakfast spread is catered to the Chinese palette, so the only Western concession would be white bread and dubious jam in various lurid...

Read moreDas Hotel ist rein optisch nicht besonders alt, hat aber bestimmt schon bessere Tage gesehen. Die Einrichtung wirkt ziemlich abgewohnt und verstaubt. Die Bodenbeläge sind verschmutzt und lose (teilweise PVC lose über den Teppichboden verlegt). Handtücher und Bettwäsche sind sauber. Die Klimaanlage liegt in den letzten Zügen, Frischluft gibts eigntlich nur übers geöffnete Fenster.||||Ein besonderes Highligt war das Frühstück! Für Fans des chinesischen Essens war es bestimmt OK. Die landesüblichen Komponenten waren auch lecker und ansprechend angerichtet. Wer allerdings was anderes erwartete mußte sich mit süßem Tost und Butter (sah aus wie Gries) begnügen.
