Holiday Inn Express Kunming West — Hotel in Kunming

The hotel is 460 m from Exit A of Liangjiahe metro station and is 50 mins by metro from Kunming airport. Our room on the 18th floor and away from the busy Renmin West was quiet but gets the sun and was too warm in the afternoon because in January, the aircon was centrally controlled at 23 C. We requested for a change and was given a room facing the main road. There was hardly any traffic noise because the hotel was setback by 110 m from the main road and the high adoption of EV in Kunming.||Room was clean and equipped coffee and tea making facilities and Japanese toilet. The hotel was very generous with bottled water. We were provided with 6 bottles each day and there were more at the lift lobby of every floor.||Buffet breakfast comes with a wide spread; noodles, stir fried seasonal vegetables, eggs (boiled and fried) porridge, soup noodles, bread, buns, pastry, cakes, bacon, sausage, tea, coffee machine. juice, fruits (cut and whole), cereals ......||Staff were very friendly and accommodating. We changed a few 100 yuan notes into 10 yuan and 1 yuan notes to be used whenever we had problem with Alipay. We had a 6 pm flight and our request for late check-out was granted without...

Wonderful hotel. We always stay here when visiting friends in Kunming. Fairly convenient - though we often took Didi to get places. Top of the list is their service. It is first class! They go out of your way to help and often took the initiative to ask us if we needed help. Front desk is always fully staffed as is the breakfast area. The breakfast is bountiful. Not a 5-start buffet but more than enough, mostly fresh, options to choose from. The exercise room is simple but all the machines work and it's clean. The whole hotel is clean and new. Even have free laundry service. They spent time understanding what travelers need and pay attention to even small details like bumper guards on corners!The restaurant attached is a bit pricey but also excellent service and good food. They even have private rooms on the 2nd and 3rd floors for no extra charge (for about 15 people). I think the only requirement is a min number of people. We used it two times.The only think they can improve is to add a little refregerator...
