Maple Palace Hotel — Hotel in Kunming

If the purpose of your trip is connecting with local universities, the location is perfect! Otherwise, the hotel is about 90 mins by subway/60 mins by car to downtown Kunming. Staff are friendly, kind, and very accommodating. The rooms are dated, but very clean and comfortable. Because the hotel is a distance from Kunming proper, rooms are wonderfully quiet and have easy access to a number of parks for walking. Restaurant access by foot is a bit challenging; though there are plenty of street food stalls right across from the hotel as well as delivery availability. The hotel restaurant is great with enormous portions; good value for money. Breakfast is mostly Chinese-style, but lots of options. There is a very inviting tea room on the second floor. We got an upgrade to the highest floor to their Suites, the rooms were huge. The minibar was for free and we got fresh fruits in the evening. ||They also offered us a free transfer to the railway station at six am in the morning. ||Super nice Hotel, very quiet...

Mauvaise surprise dès l'arrivée : le personnel ne savait pas parler anglais, et ne savait pas se servir des cartes bancaires françaises, donc a exigé que l'on paie tout en liquide... Ce qui a été très compliqué au vu de la somme totale. Je conseillerai donc d'arriver avec un minimum de liquide sur place pour, en cas de problème, payer au moins la première nuit.. Malgré tout, certains membres du personnel ont été agréables, et ont essayé de nous débloquer, mais la barrière de la langue n'aide pas.||Les chambres sont spacieuses et confortables, plutôt calmes, et avec wi-fi.||Le petit-déjeuner est varié et copieux. Il y a également possibilité de déjeuner ou dîner à l'hôtel, ou bien de se rendre à un des petits restaurants typiques situés de l'autre côté...
