We arrived in the wee hours and after travelling for about 1 hour, got to bed around 3am. Check in and rooms [previously allotted] were managed very efficiently. Our 1st game of 3.5 games was at 12.50pm which give us a chance to sleep and rest. It appear that the Lake Course is under some form of repairs as part of the Authorities ground work. Only a selected combination of 9 holes on the Lake course was playable during our stay. The rest of the game were at the Mountain Course. We had a friend who flew in from Bangkok to join the 5 of us from Singapore. Surprisingly, all of us were of the surname 'LIM' [including our Thai friend] What a coincidence. It cause a lot of fun with the caddies when the ask for Mr. Lim. The greens on the selected Lake course were poke marked and makes putting a bit challenging. The Mountain Course turn out to be great too. Green was especially fast for amateurs like myself. There was a day that my putting strokes equal or exceed my striking strokes. But it was great fun especially when you have great friends around you.||Service was excellent. Breakfast spread is generous. We were packaged with 2 night of dinner and it was simply great. We brought some whisky and it goes well with the food and the cool weather. Unfortunately, it did rain a fair bit, hence we get a chance to play in great sunny condition, cool condition and wet condition in our 4 days there. We were introduced to Martin who is a senior staff member there. Martin is from Singapore and has been a stalwart at Spring City for a good 20 years. Interacting with him, makes one feel proud of fellow Singaporean who works overseas and carry the Singapore flag high. Great work Martin.||||I will definitely recommend Spring City to any golf enthusiast. But do check the weather. I was told that December and January can be rather cold. Not for me those months as I am more comfortable in the early 20s temperature. See you...
Read moreA fantastic resort which centres around two of the finest golf courses you'll ever experience. More about the golf later...||||Everything from the size and standard of the rooms through to the dining/hospitality experience was first rate. As an English speaking traveller I found no difficulties in communicating with the staff. The staff treat everyone with that VIP touch which adds to the experience. The quality of the food was excellent, the beer was cold and the service was fast, friendly and reliable. The spa represented good value for money and the services provided were first rate. ||||The two golf courses are contrasting in design but similar in quality and in their ability to provide a lasting experience.||The Lake course (RTJ design) is a true challenge. Tight driving lines, risk v reward opportunities and some of the finest greens I've ever experience (in 30+ years of global golf travel). ||The Mountain course (Nicklaus design) is seemingly the "easier" course but is by no means a pushover. The wider fairways invite the golfer to open their shoulders but the well bunkered greens quickly punish a wayward approach.||Both courses are very picturesque. The caddies spoke good English and could read the putts very well. ||All up a great experience and somewhere that a golfing group or couple could easily while away a few days without needing to step foot outside...
