I'm not the kind of person who jumps onto give a bad review at the drop of the hat. However, I've stayed at a lot of hotels in China, and of the higher end hotels I've stayed at, this is definitely the worst, and I doubt I'll stay there again next time I'm in Langfang. If you're interested in the details, here they are:||||We stayed for a single night when visiting my wife's family. The first problem occurred when the staff had no record of our reservation, which was made through booking.com. Later, it turned out that the people in charge of online reservations were "on vacation," and thus, hadn't updated the hotel's systems. Not a huge problem, we ended up getting our room after a few phone calls back and forth.||||After checking in, we had trouble actually getting up to the room, as the card-swiping system in the elevator was clunky and kept telling us that our card didn't go to the floor where are room was located. We finally walked out and used the next elevator over, and it worked.||||The staff did not tell us that we needed a parking voucher from the front desk to leave the parking lot, otherwise we had to pay the parking fee. Being in a rush to leave, we had to pay.||||However, the truly annoying problems hadn't even started. That evening, our two-year-old child was hungry, so we ordered room service. He promptly fell to sleep about 15 minutes after the food arrived. Then, at 10:30 p.m. at night, room service called our room to "check on the quality of the meal." I'm all for room service checking on quality, but at 10:30 at night? With a sleeping two-year-old?? But wait. Things were just getting started. My wife told them that the meal was satisfactory but not great, ordered room service breakfast for the next morning, then hung up. 10 minutes later, room service called to apologize for the poor meal, and offered a fruit basket as compensation. "Not now," we said, our child is sleeping. Guess what. They called back AGAIN 10 minutes later to tell us that they weren't sure they could bring the breakfast at the time we'd requested. At this point we firmly told them to please stop calling back, and please deliver the breakfast at 7:00 a.m., which was within the hours of operation listed on the menu.||||Guess what happened the following morning? They called at 6:30 a.m. to let us know that they would add a complementary fruit basket because of the previous night's poor service. Why. Why why why would you call the room early in the morning, and thirty minutes before the time we'd schedule for breakfast? We were all asleep, child included, and had NOT scheduled a wakeup call.||||And yet, things were not over yet. Having stayed at many nice hotels in China, and ordered many a room service breakfast, I was expecting the relatively expensive western breakfast to match the standards of other hotels, with an extensive spread of foods that would be enough for our whole family to snack on before heading out for the day. What arrived was as follows: one plate with three pieces of random bread, and a weird omelet. One plate of cut up fruit. One extra plate of cut up fruit that was the complementary gift for the previous night's poor service. That was it. No coffee or juice or other beverage. We had to ask for the butter and jam which was on the menu, but wasn't given to us. Seriously, my wife and I looked at the food and just started laughing. I've never seen such a skimpy room service breakfast in my life. Even more hilarious was that the bread and eggs were delivered first, and the staff member told us "sorry the fruit is still being prepared, we'll bring it later." It came LITERALLY ONE MINUTE LATER. Lol. I mean, seriously, you couldn't just wait one minute and bring it all together?||||So that's most of the story. The experience wasn't horrible, just very annoying. A final thing happened that I wouldn't normally count against the hotel, but I figured I might as well share:||||The desk in the room had a glass top with a relatively sharp, exposed edge. Due to my carelessness, I stumbled and scraped my leg on that corner, and it cut a big, jagged gash in my thigh. Again, mostly my fault, but that glass edge is definitely not safe, and I shudder to think what would have happened if my two-year-old hit his forehead on it. ||||Overall, nothing happened so horrible as to ask for a refund or something like that, but the experience was definitely not something that would entice me to go back. Sorry Wanda Realm, you really need to...

This was my 2nd visit this year (40 nights in total) which I have cut short this time and moved to another hotel in the area.||On arrival I was given a room on the 16th floor which on opening the door reminded me of walking into an oil rig smokers cabin. ||The room was also around 30 degrees and the air con for the hotel fully switched off.||I was unhappy with the smell and the temperature and was moved to a room on the 15th floor which was a slightly more modest 27 degrees with the option of having a window open about 2 inches.||I stayed in this hotel for 12 nights and the coldest the room dropped was 24 degrees with an outside temperature of -5 degrees. Still far too warm for my liking.||I also stayed in this hotel in April / May of this year when the outside temperature was 27/28 degrees and again the air conditioning was not turned on for the whole hotel leaving the rooms stiflingly hot and the only solution offered was a noisy personal air con unit in the room.||The rooms are a good size and the beds extremely comfortable but the bathroom was in need to some repair with the overhead shower barley useable due to water cascading out of one side. ||The deciding factor in leaving the hotel tho was the standard of food on offer at the supposed international buffet. ||There is a very limited amount of western food served at this and all pre made dishes western or local were constantly lukewarm / cold. ||We raised concerns on this but over a 10 day period nothing was done to try and resolve the situation.||There are some extremely decent staff working at the hotel in particular Bobby who always did his best to try and make our experience the best he could. ||With a range of new hotels now open in the area (Khos, Holiday Inn) with bars and far superior restaurants cooking hot food on request our time using this hotel has come to an end. ||Once again I would like to thank Bobby tho who always tried his best to resolve our issues without much support from his management team it would...

I've been staying at the Wanda Realm Langfang for several years (even when it was a Hilton Doubletree) and have always had a soft spot for the place. So, it's somewhat saddening to see the quality standard of the Wanda Realm Langfang decline so rapidly in more recent years.||||A quick rundown of issues:||- Arriving in the room there seemed to be a lot of tiny flies/mosquitoes. On the first night probably killed about a dozen of them (they seemed harmless) but it was more annoying than anything.||- Rain showerhead was spraying water in several directions but sadly downwards was not really one of them. Opted to use the standard showerhead which was fine.||- English levels are dropping fast too. Attempted to order room service 'char kway teow' for about five minutes before giving up and ordering the wanton noodle soup which the operator said a few times.||- Breakfast variety seems to be a little weaker than I remember.||||Positives though:||+ Great location next to the Wanda Mall that has plenty of restaurants with English menues (incl. McDonalds/KFC/Ajisen Ramen)||+ Still a much better breakfast buffet than the Arcadia Langfang||+ Gym is well-equipped and great when wanting to keep fit whilst travelling||+ Internet quite strong (compared to Arcadia)||||Sad to see the hotel drop off so quickly but probably still better (but more expensive) than the Arcadia Langfang.||||It will be interesting to see how Wanda Realm copes once the New World Langfang...
