As a Hilton Diamond and Marriott Titanium, we also strongly considered the Hilton for our 4 nights in Lijiang, but ultimately chose the Fairfield, because it’s much closer to Old Town and cheaper.||Prior to arriving, by the app chat, we requested a nice room, and were told we’d get the best room available that day.||At check-in, we were told we were upgraded to the 7th floor, but the room seemed pretty regular, with a smallish window and view of only old rooftops with mountains in the distance.||It seems none of the rooms have any great views, but on the floor plan, I saw a good number of larger rooms, so I asked if any larger rooms were available.||Jenny then kindly consulted with her manager, and gave us very large suite on the 5th floor. There are 8 floors total.||Jenny also kindly tried to get us tickets for the Glacier cable car in Yulong Snow Mountain, but these were sold at least a week in advance.||The rooms and hotel are new, clean, and modern but simply-furnished. Our room and beds were comfortable.||The breakfast room was really cold, so all diners wore heavy jackets. The breakfast was fairly simple, and was never crowded.||The hotel is a 10 min DiDi or taxi to the Old Town water wheel entrance, or a...
Read moreWe stayed here on two separate single nights. The staff were proactive, helpful, and easy to communicate with. The hotel is in a great location — just a short walk to Lijiang Ancient Town, which made exploring really convenient. A special shoutout to one of the staff during our first stay: my daughter accidentally let go of her balloon, and someone actually brought out a ladder and got it down for her. We didn’t catch his name, but we’re truly grateful. The rooms are clean and comfortable, and many of them have different designs. There was ongoing renovation during our visit but it didn’t affect our stay. We received fruit plates as a welcome gift for being elite members, and breakfast vouchers were provided at check-in. The breakfast spread was simple but it suited our taste. Overall, a warm and...
Read moreThe room was comfortable, and we were pleasantly surprised with a mountain view, even though it wasn’t advertised. The only downside is that there is no door for the WC area, and it lacks ventilation. It can become quite unpleasant if someone is using it. We had to remind each other to use the lobby restroom for bowel movements. The reception staff were incredibly helpful! They extended a late check-out, knowing we had to catch an evening train to Kunming. Due to our group size, we needed two vehicles, and the staff helped us book a maxi cab using their personal account (big vehicles can only be booked by locals). As we do not have a local number, they even let us use their phone number to register for food delivery. Their service truly exceeded our...
