Friendship Hotel — Hotel in Luoyang

The hotel was clean and nicely furnished. Staff were very good, including the housekeeping, laundry, doorman and the reception even though there was limited English spoken at the reception. With help from our phrase book and daughter we were able to communicate. The suites were very nice with computers, and a seperate lounge room. The ordinary rooms were also very nice. The breakfast was ok. Always plenty of room to sit in the breakfast room. We had a fridge which didnt work but by the time we got back to our room they were replacing the fridge with another which did work. Great air conditioning.||The hotel overlooked a park where tai-chi, singing, dancing, writing of caligraphy took place each day. This did start rather early and the music from below could be heard most days but did cease later in the evening. However it certainly gave us an idea of the community spirit in this location. Very pleasant to walk about in the evening. ||A taxi was easily caught outside the hotel to the shopping area or tourist places...

The room was luxurious with a comfortable king size bed just for me. The breakfast was excellent a huge varied smorgaboard and excellent coffee. Free water and fruit each day was provided and a turn down gift every night.There was also the important internet connection for those who needed it. The only thing that seemed to be missing was a comfortable sitting area close to the foyer to sit or have a cup of coffee. The position was excellent close by to local cafes and a wonderful people park opposite. Peony Park was a park for activities or people watching. On the weekend it also catered for children, and during the week it was used for exercise, dancing, tai chi, martial arts, gossiping, whip cracking and many more activities. The peonys had finished blooming but the display of roses was a highlight. Being opposite this park was a bonus. When we visited in May 2014 the Companionship Guesthouse was called the Friendship Guesthouse. Reception staff not very fluent in English but o k. Sweets...
