Location is in the middle of no where. Nothing to do within walking distance aside from the on property host springs. ||||Property seems quite nice visually. Definitely a new property, though suffering from the usual Chinese management where they turn off all the lights during the day to the point where it is uncomfortably dark. While I understand energy saving, it left the interior dark and unwelcoming. ||||Room was very large. It wasn't a hot day and still the AC just barely kept up. This hotel has the usual China glass window between the room and the bathroom, but they do have a window shade. I had to unplug the picture frame due to the terrible elevator music it played at random (they should just throw these out). Floors could use a cleaning. Wifi was exceedingly slow. ||||Bathroom was a little small. It was good square footage wise, but not the best layout. Shower only and the shower was dirty. Glass was unclean. Mould and mildew on all the caulking. It looked like someone had spit on the floor and it dried into it. Basically cleanliness was a little below average for a Chinese hotel (unacceptable by North American standards).||||Noise was an issue. Other guests on the floor constantly left their doors open and were loud. Noise carries through the doors easily. The maid's closet and fire stairs were next to us. The doors squeaked and slammed well through the evening from the staff use. ||||Food is only offered at the buffet restaurant. Selection reasonably good and very Chinese with few international offerings. Taste was decent, aside from sashimi which was sliced incorrectly and not cold. Cleanliness of the buffet was questionable at best with bugs in the air, questionable servicewares and food handling practices. I wouldn't eat any raw fruits or vegetables here. Service was very good and attentive.||||Hot springs was very good. The one visit per night was an unnecessary restriction that detracted from the experience. That said, the pools were excellent and service staff were very attentive. The "massaging pool" was a gimmick, but it was fun to push the buttons to see what would happen. Would be better if all the buttons worked. No sulfurous smell, which is weird for a hot spring hotel in a town that translates into Sulfur Town.||||The hot springs make this stay acceptable, however it fell short of my expectations given the...
