Galactic Peace International Hotel — Hotel in Nanchang

I agree with some of the reviews.||I will share my experience.||||The attitude of the staff is amazing.||I got a problem with one of the taxis I took away from the street. The taxi driver will not give me a receipt. The concierge arranged the receipt to be sent to my room.||Another experience with taxis is a taxi non-English speaker, did not have any change. So I took to the hotel and they helped getting the change, paying the taxi and explaining to me in English how much was the be payed.||A lot of experiences like this everyday.||||The pool is very decent.||The breakfast buffet is included. It includes western items, like bacon, cereal, yogurth, omelettes... The Chinese food at the breakfast is very good too. It also has cofee and a expresso coffee maker available. So it made me very happy, since I am coffee lover.||||Regarding the room, it is decent, very clean and spacious. The furniture are a little bit basic, but good.||||Fresh fruit is delivered to your room every afternoon.||||The gym is not fantastic, but it works.||||It is true, the restaurant is very expensive for dinner, but good. The coffee at the lobby is also very expensive (about $10 USD!!), but very good. There is not lots of coffee shops out there any way, so that would be the market price here in Nanchang!||||Bai Square is very close. The area is not great, but there are a lot of big and little restaurants within a walking distance. Walmart is also 15 minute walk from the hotel.||||Overall, I would say, this is one of the best in town, you can find.||||Congratulations to the staff. It is improving every day, I stayed...

This is the hotel where we first met our adoptive daughter, so we wanted to stay there as a part of our heritage tour. ||The staff was friendly, the rooms were clean and tidy. Service was generally quite good. Breakfast buffet was emphatically Chinese, but the variety was sufficient and we were satisfied. ||||The pool area was dark and dirty, the water murky and the sidings of the pool were loose and unsafe. My children were too frightened to swim. The locker room needs an overhaul. Lockers were crooked, hard to close, and the toilet area dirty and too small. Gym was passable. Enough equipment for a decent work-out. ||I was unhappy that they still allow their clients to smoke in the gym, breakfast area and lobby. A shame that the Chinese are still not "house trained" to follow rules. ||The hotel still has broken tiles everywhere, making it look cheap and uncared for. ||||As a heritage tour, we were happy to stay there. As a way to visit Nanchang, I would look...

We stayed here when adopting our son. For this reason Galactic Peace will always hold a special place in our hearts. It is true that the physical space was somewhat dated and there were a lot of people smoking. But, we really liked the location. We went out and about every day and could easily walk to restaurants (Chinese and western), Walmart, Starbucks, parks, etc. There is a "newer" area of Nanchang with new and more updated hotels but my understanding is that there's less within walking distance there. The hotel staff members were extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine with lots of choices. The staff got to know us and always brought us coffee right away! Our housekeepers also went above and beyond to help us. We had a refrigerator in our room and everything was restocked daily. I think they checked our room twice on most days. This was a very reasonably priced, safe hotel that met our needs and we will never forget this...
