嘉兴富悦大酒店 — Hotel in Nanhu District

Visiting a vendor in the Jiaxing area, I stayed here for 5 nights. The hotel is about 1 to 1.5 hours outside of Pudong Airport. It's a Chinese hotel which I mostly prefer when in China. The staff were all very nice and the room was clean, good size, nice bathroom and comfortable. The walls are somewhat thin however, I could hear a lot of.... ahum "activity" in the room next to me. The "non-smoking room" in China is a bit odd statement because while the room I had not a smoking room BECAUSE I don't smoke but the rooms next to me do! It's a consistent problem no matter which hotel you stay at in China, foreign or domestic, as infuriating as it is.....it's just what they do. The Western Restaurant was actually decent here as well. The breakfast was good and stocked well and included in my room rate. The dinner was a bit more expensive but again, that's what they ALL do. One of my favorite things is that they have a Foot Massage Spa area in the hotel. After a long walking day (and they always are) going there was amazing. Lastly, there is a few local area's like Mall's and some local cuisine you can visit within a mile or two away. Currently the area is under street construction and they start around 5:30 am. I would stay again when back...

The air conditioning in the room was not working, resulting in a very hot night with little sleep. Other colleagues of mine in different rooms have the same experience. In addition, even though my room was non-smoking, it smelled very much of smoke. Again, other colleagues had the same experience so it was not only me. The wireless internet connection was very poor (worse than most in China), I was constantly needing to reboot my computer to make it...
