I stayed in this hotel for a week in Aug 2013. My room on the 4th floor was spacious and spotlessly clean. There was an extensive range of toiletries provided apart from the usual shower gel, shampoo and conditioner - for example toothbrush, razor, hair elastic bands as well as a bathrobe and slippers. Each day 2 complimentary bottles of water, fresh fruit, snacks and an english newspaper were delivered to my room. There were tea/ coffee making facilities, wine, beer, cans of coke, chocolate, biscuits, a safe etc. The large flat screen TV had many channels. 2/3 in English. One in French too. ||The other guests staying at the hotel were all Chinese. All staff were very attentive and kind though the language barrier proved complex at times. The reception area is beautiful- with waterfalls, greenery and sofas. coffee and cakes were on offer here in the afternoon. Both breakfast and dinner buffets (¥100) offered a very wide variety of foods which allowed us to try authentic Chinese cuisine while also enjoying familiar ones, too. On a few occasions, taxi drivers had difficulty finding the hotel despite showing them the card offered by the hotel with the name and address in chinese. All in all a great 4 star hotel which is deservedly one of the top ten hotels in...
Read moreWe found the reception staff to be very helpful although their spoken English was not as good as we'd found at other hotels in China. We had a nice comfortable and clean room with all necessary facilities. The hotel catered primarily for Chinese clientele and Chinese business conferences, but that was good from our perspective. At breakfast we found some western fayre, but the catering was principally for the Chinese. The hotel was very central in this large city, but our taxi driver seemed to have difficulty finding it as it sat back a little from the main road. We ate dinner here as well and the staff were eager to please, recommending food to us with sign language. We enjoyed our stay...
Read moreRooms were fine, but nothing special. Not really particularly close to any attraction. The other amenities of the hotel were really average. Couldn't manage to find a meal in the hotel on a Saturday night (everything was setup for group events), and no-one seemed to have enough English to direct me to a nearby restaurant. I realise that it's China, but passable English from at least someone is meant to be an expectation in nominal 4-star and above in China. I'm sure the hotel is passable for some purposes, but I won't...
