Hilton Nanjing Niushoushan is located south of Nanjin in the suburb. It is not directly on the Nanjin subway line. However, you can take a taxi to reach line S1 and/or S3, then, you can reach other Nanjin attractions, or to the highspeed rail station (Nanjing South Station) or Nanjin Airport. |Compensating for the subpar location, what a splendid facility it is. The hotel boosts a great lobby area, with splendid art works and zen gardens throughout the public area. There are a couple of public, free tea options provided in the lobby area, further boosting the zen feel of the facility. |As a Hilton Diamond elite, I was upgraded to a suite. The room is spacious, boost a separate bedroom and a living room area. I particularly like the calligraphy set in the bedroom area, and the Japanese tea set in the living room area, this provided an added zen feel. |The concierge lounge is not open yet at the hotel. However, for the guest with concierge lounge priviledge, the hotel serves the afternoon tea and the dinner at the main lounge café. I found that the quality of the afternoon tea and the dinner to be pretty good and satisfactory (though the portion is on the small side). |The breakfast buffet has plenty of selection for both the western food (fruit, pastries, muffins, waffles, yogurt, cereals, bread, cheeses, hams and sausages) and the Chinese breakfast items (wonton, noodles, buns, soft tofu, congee, vermicelli noodle soup, spring rolls, fried dumplings, etc..) |The hotel provides a free shuttle to Niushoushan. However, as the hotel is so close (only about 500m) away from Niushoushan, and you will need to walk a lot in Niushoushan any way. I felt that the shuttle is an overkill. It might as well just provide walking direction to...
Read moreWe booked one night here for our 30 year wedding anniversary. Knowing that it will be a busy tourist destination, we opted for an executive room for quite breakfast experience. What a surprise finding that the lounge was closed on Sunday morning showing a sign "coming soon"! For the buffet breakfast we had to wait in line to get admitted. It turns out that the line was not due to the lack of available tables, but because the staff did not manage to clean tables in time. The food remains and dishes on the tables next to ours were not cleaned for more than an hour! Staff was definitely not well trained and too low in numbers. It very sad that a celebration of our special day, turned out to be a disappointing experience. Not a good calling card for the Hilton brand and a waste of the extra money paid for...
Read moreLuxury resort located right next to the Niushoushan Park, in the suburb of the ancient Nanjing city. Expansive property with beautiful and serene surroundings and landscape. Our room is large with new facilities. Interesting books and calligraphy supply in room, corresponding to the rich Buddhist legacy in the Niushoushan area. Staff was very responsive and helpful. We had an A/C issue in room which was addressed quickly once called the front desk. A very relaxing place to enjoy some quiet time for yourself and with family. If you are interested in the Buddhist religion, there is a lot around to see and visit, including some historical pagodas and some beautifully...
