During my recent stay at Hilton Nanjing Riverside, I expected a level of service that aligns with the Hilton's reputation. Unfortunately, my experience did not meet these expectations.||Upon checking in late at night, I was not greeted with the enthusiasm one expects from a Hilton property. The receptionist's demeanour lacked warmth, and when I asked about the hotel's significance, there was a clear lack of awareness. The room had cleanliness and maintenance issues. The bathroom had visible dirt and the furniture had stains. Additionally, the body lotion was finished and had not been refilled. These conditions are unacceptable for a Hilton property and need immediate attention to maintain the standards of comfort. The overall atmosphere of the hotel felt unwelcoming. This stark environment did not provide the hospitable ambience that guests expect from a Hilton property. While the hotel's location might be commendable, the service fell short of reflecting the Hilton's commitment to hospitality.||For Hilton Nanjing Riverside to uphold its reputation, it is crucial to address these issues promptly. Ensuring that staff members are motivated to deliver excellent service is essential. Additionally, regularly checking the condition of the rooms will help restore confidence in the...
Read morePros : - The main advantage of this hotel is the location near the river. It is very peaceful and the view is great. - Bedroom is OK and well equiped- The balcony with a view on the river is perfect at night. It would have been good to have a chair or something on the balcony... - Breakfast is good but not as good as other Hilton hotels i stayed in China. Cons : - Furniture and equipment are dated. A refresh of the hotel is urgently needed. - Air condition was not working. We put air-con at 20 degrees and it was much more hot inside the room than outside, even if it was more than 25 outside !- Check-in took half and hour ! Hotel did a mistake and prepared 2 rooms for us, while we only booked 1 room. We had to get help from a Chinese friend to do the check-in. This is not acceptable for an international hotel. I chose this hotel because it is close to my relatives house, but it is far from Hilton standards. I will not come to this hotel anymore until a refresh is done. I prefer to stay in a better hotel and take taxi everyday. The price is similar to others hotels in Nanjing (Shangri-La, Hilton Nanjing...) that are...
Read moreWhere to start. ||- hotel hardware fine|- location good|- rooms good|- breakfast not bad||So why the low rating? This is the first time in China that, as a Hilton honors diamond member i was not upgraded to a suite. Sure i understand this is not a “right” and the hotel can decide whether or not to give but this was disappointing. What i really didn’t understand however was that when i asked to change the twin bed to a king bed room i was asked to pay extra. So first no upgrade and then second not even able to do something so simple. I know it sounds petty to be concerned about this but the fact is that i do my best to always stay in hilton so i can continue to be a diamond member, thats called loyalty. I would expect that the hotel treats their diamond members in the same way. For this reason i will never stay at this hotel again.||Fast forward one week to a second trip to Nanjing and we stayed at the new Hilton Niushoushan. What a breath of fresh air, fantastic service, upgrade to a huge suite. This is what we expect as...
