This was a 1 bedroom suite. Suites are very large, very comfortable, with all amenities you need. The bed is a delight, and the suite is very quiet so you never have any problem sleeping. Suites have an in-room thermostat. Very convenient to have an in-suite washer/dryer, in addition to the kitchen. The area is also very nice, very safe, with an array of convenience stores just at the foot of the building. There is also a shopping mall right beside the hotel but it is extremely expensive...only luxury shops. Dining options are limited at the mall too.
Another convenient feature in the location is the subway just beside the hotel too. Otherwise staff can book you a cab.
The breakfast buffet is absolutely beautiful, in quality and choice, with an array of both chinese and western choices, freshly squeezed juice, hot and cold dishes. It could be a brunch, and a good one for that.
For lunch and dinner though, there is some choice but not so much if you are looking into western dishes. Asian dishes are all very greasy, and appear to not be the traditional type either (our chinese business partners do not like the food at the restaurant either).
Staff is also very responsive, and would come to your room within 5-10 minutes for every request. Example: TV was not working, somebody came up and reconnected it (a wire behind the TV was disconnected, bring me some kitchen utensils, etc). They can also book you a cab or answer questions if you are looking for something in particular. Staff is very friendly.
The only substandard part for a Holiday inn, for this stay only (for this particular room) is that the room was not thoroughly cleaned i.e. some traces on the bedroom door, on the floor (not mopped inbetween guests), and crumbs underneath the sofa seats. In addition, a lot of stains on the living room rug and on the bedroom bench. This is not typical of all the rooms in this hotel as I have stayed 2 times before in other suites at this hotel and they were impeccable. I did not mention it but I am sure they would have cleaned/changed room if I had asked because they are always very responsive to any request. I just did not want...
Read moreI know what you’re thinking – the Holiday Inn? Yes. Do not be scared away by you priors for this being a budget brand. This hotel is very nice!||Our family of four, with three-year-old and one year year-old, plus two grandparents, stayed here for three nights while visiting family. For our needs, this gave us plenty of well-appointed space, kids were able to sleep in separate bedrooms, and even had some spare space left over in the common area for lounging, even when both children were asleep. While there was a crib available for the room, this was explicitly only for children six months and younger, so we had to bring our own pack and play for our littlest.||The staff were friendly, although not everyone spoke English. Be prepared to be handed off to a manager in order to make anything other than the most basic request. Also, note that you will NEED TO BRING YOUR PASSPORT to check in. ||The kitchen also had space for plates, bowls, and silverware, though there were none of any of these in our room until we requested it, an unfortunate surprise after preparing for breakfast with a grocery trip the previous night.||Location is outside of the city center, but sits on top of the last stop of the green subway line, and surrounded by a very fancy mall, lots of food options. ||Overall, a great find if you don’t mind a 45-min commute...
Read moreI liked everything about it! I stayed at a Holiday Inn in the US before. But our most recent stay at Nanjing location is exceptional! The amenities are so new and advanced, i.e the amazing toilet! The service was very considerate too! They called and confirmed with me if I didn't want my room cleaned when they saw my "DO NOT DISTURB" sign was lit the whole time. The breakfast was 100 times better than the US one we stayed at! The buffet dinner was amazing too! A lot of selections and great food! There are a lot of options to charge your devices too inside the room. Also, noticed that at this location, you can access Google Hongkong and youtube, which were blocked in the rest of China. The price per night was cheap too given the value we got! The price was comparable, or even cheaper than the US, but the value we got was SO MUCH better! We...
