Jinling Riverside Conference Hotel — Hotel in Nanjing City

I have been here for the past three days and have to say it is driving me crazy but in a beautiful environment......... There is virtually no English spoken or understood, the food is real Chinese and not suitable to our foreign tastes with the restaurant open for breakfast and on weekends for dinner. There is a Chinese restaurant but once again not really suitable to our foreign taste buds. There are no English newspapers except for the one I found which was 5 days old! There is absolutely NO TV in English which will be a blessing for some and no Google and intermittent internet. The music in the restaurant at any time open is the one same tune played over & over & over ......I now have grown to like it too. My room is very nice and with absolutely no complaints as to noise or anything else, it has a beautiful view over the lake & gardens and really perfect for my needs. The location of the hotel is remote to say the least and with a free shuttle to the Metro every couple of hours but with no return trip offered and about 40 minute walk back for us energetic types. The one amazing thing is when I enter the elevator and zap my room key it already knows my floor.......How do it know? Would I stay here gain......definitely not but have to say enjoyed...

Stayed here on business two nights. As my colleague said, it had remarkably comfortable beds, and the room overall was comfortable... and well lit (I really dislike poorly lit rooms). The exercise room was minimal, but not overly used so that was fine. The breakfast buffet was typical of high end Chinese hotels: extensive and good, including typical Chinese foods along with more western, including fried eggs and such. ||||As noted by others, this is a bit more out of the way, and the staff is less fluent in English... helpful but less fluent. Cabs tended to not get it quite correct when getting to the hotel. ||||Bottom line: Fine place to stay, but if you are visiting Nanjing, unless you get a great price that makes up for it being a bit out of the way, not sure why you might choose it. Participated in a national conference here. The Convention Center is excellent and well equipped. Staff are professional and efficient.||||The hotel's garden and courtyard is very vast. There are wonderful views in all directions. ||||The room is spacious, clean and comfortable. Food, including breakfast, lunch and dinner are great.
