Lakeview Xuanwu Hotel — Hotel in Nanjing City

This hotel’s location is really good. It is located right next to a major shopping mall with lots of good restaurants and stores. It’s located within walking distance from Xuanwu Gate 玄武门 and Xuanwu Lake 玄武湖. It’s right next to a subway that provides easy access to other parts of Nanjing like the Nanjing Museum 南京博物院 or the Confucian Temple area 夫子庙. The rooms were clean and everything in it felt high quality. The view of Nanjing from my room was beautiful. Although the hotel staff are very friendly, I marked the service and amenities as 4/5 for a few reasons. First, laundry is relatively expensive whereas at Atour 亚朵 it’s free. If i remember correctly, they wanted me to pay 35 or so rmb per article of clothing. Secondly, the hotel allows delivery of takeout but they do not send it to your room like they do at Atour 亚朵. You have to go to the lobby and pick it up yourself. These are the only two things that stop me from giving all 5/5s. Other than that, I loved this hotel especially for its location and comfortable rooms.If you dont care about doing laundry or having takeout ordered directly to your room, then those two criticisms are relatively minor things. The hotel is conveniently located very close to Xuanwuhu and the metro station Xuanwumen is just outside the hotel. There are a lot of shops and shopping malls around and needless to say never short of restaurants and cafes.||Overall the hotel staff were very courteous, except at the breakfast restaurant. The servers at the cooked food stalls seemed to be not care what you want.||The room I stayed is facing the lake at the high floor, pretty good view and extremely clean. The decoration was the old style type and may not appeal to the young people.||I have tried the Chinese restaurant. It was not bad but the standard was not in particular outstanding. There are a lot of restaurants around and in the city and finding a better one certainly would not be a problem.||in one morning I went to have a stroll at the lakeside. Arrived at this modern 4+ star Hotel and was immediately struck by the level of attention of the staff. Check in went very well and quickly and in no time was ushered to a beautiful room facing onto the lake. The room had everything you could wish for and was obviously well set up for business travellers, as well as tourists.||Breakfast was on the twentieth floor on the revolving restaurant and had every combination of Chinese and Western foods. The lobby bar was well run with good staff who were willing to help on every occasion.||Taxis were always available and the desk stff made sure that you had a card bringing you back home.||The manager,Mr.William Wang, was most helpful and suggested different tours of the City and area.||Overall, a Hotel that excelled.
