I have been a guest in this hotel very recently and I have to say that I was a bit disappointed. Apart from the fact that the hotel staff's English is not great, they have a few shortcomings in terms of their service. In a normal hotel these things would be a non-issue, but here it surely is one. Room service messed up my order twice and yet, I was charged full price for missing items and items I did not order. I went to the restaurant on the top floor and despite the fact that it was almost empty (nearly no guests present), I was not approached by any member of staff (although there were quite a few). The two women at the front desk blatantly ignored me. The hotel bar seems to have n real bar - keeper and staff present served beer in cans without glasses and did not provide a menu for the beverages (I had to ask for it). Generally speaking, the hotel's staff seems to be very nervous about dealing with foreigners and although I speak Chinese fluently they tried to answer me in rather broken English in almost all instances. The food was great though, the hotel is very clean and quiet and members of staff are helpful. I would lodge there again, but only be willing to pa the full price if their service improves to a...
Read moreSo it all started at the check-in point. It took us more than 20 minutes to get it done and I have also reluctantly overheard the conversation between the reception girl and a guest—it’s all about what welcome deserts/fruits the guest wanted although he already said he’s fine with anything. But still, she’s clearly taken the guest way too seriously, that she forgot other guests were waiting in line forever.
After we were “taken in” by another reception guy who was sorry watching us waiting for too long, we finally made it to the room. This hotel really needs to get something fixed. First the socket in room 1221 didn’t really work, we tried several times but nothing changed. Also the handle of one of the room windows were broken, weirdly. One more thing about this room, this was the first time I didn’t enjoy taking shower in a Marriott hotel, it just wouldn’t stop changing between hot water and not-so-warm water.
Lastly, breakfast was overall not so bad, but I don’t quite understand how could the staff tell a guest there’s no more bread left when it’s still the hotel’s breakfast time?
I guess that’s why I won’t choose to stay in a hotel like...
Read moreI booked a room on a high floor. I recommend avoiding rooms 1, 2, 3, 26, 27, and 28, as they face the other side of the hotel. Upon entering the room, I noticed a few biscuit crumbs on the counter, but overall, it was acceptable. The room was large and the basic amenities were good. However, they only provided instant coffee, which made it feel more like a three-star hotel. No one showed me to my table at breakfast in the restaurant, and no one asked for tea or coffee. However, they cleaned up very quickly; every time I took my food back, everything left on the table was removed. When breakfast time was over, they immediately stopped providing coffee, and I was even got a lecture from the staff. The hotel is about eight minutes from the subway, but it feels quite isolated, making it a bit unsafe if walk alone. The nearby convenience stores also close quite early. The hotel isn't in the main city center, which may be why the price is relatively affordable. It's mostly local guests, I wouldn't recommend staying here if you come for vacation for the first time and can afford the...
